The Official 2008 Sitcoms Online Board-A-Thon Thread

Yep, that's right. It's time to do it again, and this time it's going to be better than ever. Basically, everyone's going to get involved in a bunch of fun contests of varying degrees of difficulty and whichever team rakes in the most points at the end will be the 2008 Sitcoms Online Board-A-Thon Champion. The draft will take place July 1st and the activities will wrap up August 31st with the champion being crowned September 1st. Here's all the info you're gonna need to know about the competition.

BOARD-A-THON CONTESTS:

1. Thread Contest (100 points) - July 6th, 2008
Each team captain will choose one player from his roster to post a thread on Chit Chat. Whichever team's thread recieves the most replies after 48 hours wins this contest. Each reply is worth one point.

Rules:
- The thread must conform to the rules at Sitcoms Online.
- No provocative thread titles. The goal is to have each thread be indiscernible from the other non-contest related discussions.
- Replies added by the original poster and/or his/her teammates are void. Bumping is allowed, but each bump will cost you one point from the final reply tally, so do it wisely if you must.
- The thread MUST be posted in the main "Chit Chat" forum at Sitcoms Online. Any thread created on any of Chit Chat's subforums will be void.
- No chat threads. This rule goes hand-in-hand with Sitcoms Online's "random posts" rule. Any thread moved due to such activity will result in a disqualification.
- No bumping of older, similar threads. This will result in a disqualification.

2. Trivia Contest (200 points) - July 9th, 2008
A member from each team will compete against each other in a seven-game series of Windows Live Trivia on Windows Live Messenger.

Rules:
- The first player to win four games will win the series.
- Calling a draw or forfeit during any of the games will result in a victory for the opponent.
- Should a match involuntarily result in a draw, a rematch will decide the victor.

3. Battle Rap Contest (300 points) - July 12th, 2008
A member from each team will battle it out in a rap contest. Anything goes. The team leaders will choose a beat for the contestants to rap to, and a coin toss will decide who gets the first shot.

Rules:
- You must be the person rapping on your entry.

4. No Sleep Contest (500 points) - July 15th, 2008
The two team captains square off in a competition to see who can stay awake the longest.

Rules:
- Neither contestant is allowed to sleep after 11:59:59PM July 14th, 2008.
- The first person to fall asleep or forfeit loses this round of the competition.

5. Best Hair Contest (300 points) - July 19th, 2008
Two members will face off in a contest to decide who has the better hair.

Rules:
- The hair must be entirely yours. No extensions or wigs, etc. (Dyes, braiding, etc. is allowed as long as it's YOUR hair)
- Your face must not be visible in the photo (You can edit it out after if needed)

6. Impression Contest (400 points) - July 21st, 2008
A player from each team will compete to see who can do the best impression of a set of popular figures determined by the team captains.

Rules:
- Impressions MUST be done by the person chosen to do the impression.

7. Short Film Contest (500 points) July 23rd, 2008
A player from each team will put together a video and they will be judged to determine the winner.

Rules:
- The video must be original work.

8. Blend Contest (600 points) - July 29th, 2008
A member from each team creates a personal blend or graphic and puts it up for judging.

Rules:
- The graphic must be created by you.
- The graphic must contain the subject as decided by the team captains.

9. Photography Contest (700 points) - August 4th, 2008
One player from each team's roster will take a special photo and our panel of judges will decide the winner.

Rules:
- The photography obviously must be yours.
- The photos must not contain people as the main subject.

10. Drawing Contest (700 points) - August 9th, 2008
A member from each team draws a picture and our panel of judges will pick the best entry.

Rules:
- The drawing must be your work.
- No tracing other images.

11. Checkers Tournament (900 points) - August 14th, 2008
4 members from each team will compete against each other to represent their team in the Checkers Tournament Finals on August 16th in an elaborate Yahoo! Checkers tournament.

Rules:
- Calling a draw or forfeit during any of the games will result in a victory for the opponent.
- Should a match involuntarily result in a draw, a rematch of that game will decide the winner.

12. Singing Contest (1200 points) - August 17th, 2008
3 members from each team will compete in an American Idol style singing competition and our panel of judges will decide the winner. The performance can be an original performance or a cover. All recordings MUST be sent in before MIDNIGHT August 22nd.

Rules:
- The contestants chosen to participate in this contest MUST be the individuals singing on the tracks.
- No digital editing of the song is allowed, except adding of background music.

13. Truth Or Dare Contest (1700 points) - August, 23rd, 2008
A member from each team is pitted together in a truth or dare battle for the ages. First one to crack loses. Each player has one (1) chance to deny either a truth or a dare for any reason.

Rules:
- No dares that go against the other player's religion
- No dares that involve activity that could harm/injure someone
- No illegal dares allowed.

14. Short Story Contest (2400 points) - August 27th, 2008
Each team will come together to write a short story over a period of five (5) days. Once the deadline is past, both entries will be submitted by their team to our judges to be evaluated and whichever is deemed to be the best will be the winner.

Rules:
- Both teams' entries must be sent in BEFORE the deadline, otherwise the story will be disqualified.
- Each player must be allowed to contribute 3-5 paragraphs each so everyone an equal opportunity.
- Please only use original work when writing

More or less members who may or may not even play in the competition, so they're free to sign with either team should they decide to definitely join before July 6th or when/if another member drops out for whatever reason.
