Default Coming to ABC Family Weekend Late Nights in August 2008

ABC Family has gotten the weekend late night rights for the '90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air beginning in August. TBS and Nick at Nite/The N will also still have rights. More info will come on the blog tomorrow, with hopefully details on how this is possible.

The show launches August 2 on ABC Family airing Saturdays 11pm-2am and Sundays 11pm-12am (when there isn't a movie that doesn't end at 12am)

Three networks with two playing it to death wasn't enough? WB is really overselling this show. What's next? A return to broadcast syndication? ION going to announce they've acquired it (Hey it'd fit right in with Cooper)? There's a Motorhead song playing in my head right now...

What's wrong with it being on 3 different stations? So what? I love to see classic shows like this on as much as possible, too much crap nowadays on TV. They need to show more older shows, even if this show isn't as old as 70s and 80s sitcoms. Good for ABC Fam.! Perfect time to show it too, good news.

They wouldn't put it on if they didn't think it was going to get some eyeballs.
I agree that it's on everywhere, but it's a funny show and there are tons of other channels if you don't want to watch it.

^ I totally agree. Unless you are too cheap (don't take offense) to buy cable television, maybe for a good reason if you don't have it, then there are at least 75 other channels to switch to. And for those Comcast users, you have like 600 other channels to choose between , so choose wisely grasshopper LOL...

I think the point some people are making is that why would ABC Family pick up a tv show that is already being aired heavily in syndication. So they know there are other channels but just confused as to why a network would air the same shows as another network.
