Default Robin & Barry Gibb Plot Comeback

The surviving Bee Gees are eyeing a return to the stage - five years after the death of their brother and band mate Maurice Gibb. Gibb passed away in 2003 at the age of 53 after suffering complications from a twisted intestine - and his death devastated his two siblings Robin and Barry.

The pair only played one show together after their brother died, preferring instead to focus on their solo work.

But now Robin has admitted that the emotional wounds are slowly healing and they are now preparing to make a comeback as a duo.

However, he admits they are likely to stick to their decision to retire the Bee Gees name out of respect for their late brother.

He says, "We decided that on an emotional level at that point. Whether or not that will change, we don't know. It's a personal thing and we'll do it when the time is right. So it's not a no, it's just emotionally when it's right."

It'll be great to hear more new music from Barry and Robin. Maybe SNL can do that talk show skit again!!

I would love to see Barry and Robin make more music together. However, I think they should do it under a different name than the Bee Gees with respect to Maurice. I think when Maurice died, the Bee Gees died with him.
However, new music from Barry and Robin would be great. Especially considering that the Bee Gees final album, 2001's This Is Where I Came In, featured some of the best music they ever wrote. I think they still have some amazing songs in them.

Do you like the Bee Gees, Jack? I think you're of a similar age to me and I've been a fan since I was 12. I remember being very upset when Maurice died; he was a very sweet, friendly guy. To be honest, they all seemed to be very kind people. And of course, that's their younger brother Andy in my avatar.

Unfortunately they're somewhat stereotyped as "just a 70s disco band" (if I hear one more person call them that I might scream.) This group released their first single in 1963! And people call them "just a 70s disco band." And they continued making albums up to 2001. I love their disco songs, but they were so much more than just a disco group.

Yeah, it's a shame that they are often stereotyped as a "disco band". Even during their disco period they wrote and recorded more than disco music like "How Deep Is Your Love", "Too Much Heaven", "Love So Right" and "Fanny (Be Tender With My Love)".

A lot of people say this, Jack, but I just can't imagine how anyone can consider "How Deep Is Your Love" to be disco. For a song to be disco it has to be a certain beats per minute, which this song isn't.

Yay!! And I hope they tour. They're one group I've always wanted to see live, even if it's only with Barry & Robin now.

Me, too!! I've always wanted to see the Bee Gees in concert, and if Barry and Robin came to the Cleveland area to perform, I'd definitely make the effort to see them.
