Default Hugs for Joy

I wanted to express my deepest sympathy for Angie on the loss of her mother. Angie I know you are sadden over such a loss that is near and dear to your heart. I have thought about you ever since I heard of your Mother's passing. Please know that myself and our little CATM family has thought of you. As you may know that some of us here have had the sorrow of losing a loved one and I want you to personally know that we are there for you. If there is anything that I can do for you, please let me know

Hugs!

Suzanne and Freddie friends here

I just want to say a sincere and deeply heartfelt thank you for the love and concern for me and my family after the death of my mom, my best friend.
it was sudden yes but not entirely unexpected. My mother has battled diabetes for over 35 years, she's had a kidney transplant, triple by pass and lost three toes due to sores that would not heal.
She fought bravely and though we knew she had a fight on her hands none of us knew how close to the end of her battle she was.
She;'s known since January that her kidney, that my sister gave her a little over 10 years ago, was not functioning as it should.
By the time she was hospitalized and transferred to Fargo it was no longer functioning.
They believe in the struggles of the last days she had another heart attack as well.
At 3 pm on june 11th after discussion with her doctor's and prayer together they disconnected the life support.
my "little mommy" hung on for 7 1/2 hours and at 10:30 that night my Mo m went to be with her savior.
I often called her my little mommy because she was so small, at the time of her death she weighed 98 pounds.
It was kind of comforting and almost funny my mother was never a morning person, she always said she felt better and stronger the later the day went. My mom was just getting started at 10 or 10:30 at night, many batches of cookies and homemade buns were made at 10:30 at night, i held her hand thanked her for being my mom and my best friend, told her i loved her and said, "leave it to you to wait until your favorite time of day to meet God."
We are all saddened but i myself have no regrets we spent many hours together, talking, laughing and crying.
Her last sunday June 1st we had a diet pepsi float at the A&W and i pushed her home in her wheel chair, it was a beautiful sunny day and we planted impatience in her garden.
It is perhaps one of the memories i will treasure forever.
It was hard to let go but there was also something comforting in knowing she would be free of pain and suffering.
Thank you dear friends for your kind thoughts and prayers
God bless you all

I can relate to what you went thru with your mom as Mike & I plus my dad have diabetes & so did a late uncle. The diabetes cause my Uncle to get a heart attack & pass on from the heart attack.

Your mom sounds like such a brave person. I know she is in heaven now up at peace and not suffering anymore. May God be with you & your family. We're all here for you...

Joy, I have been away visiting my parents. It was on my mind constantly how precious the time I spend with them is. They are both in their 70's and in good health, but every little thing that happens to them worries me. My husband has lost both of his parents, so I know what a loss your mom is in your life. My prayers are with you. It is always comforting to know we will be with them again one day. I don't know what people who don't believe this do at times like this. Condolences, amiga!

Joy reading your reply on your Mom was comforting for me especially with what you and your Mom did that Sunday. Just knowing that you were there together spending time with each other was very touching for me, as It reminded me of my last time with my Mother. As you know my mother was in the last stages of Alzheimers and when I said good bye to her before I left to go back up north. I hugged her told her I loved her and she smiled and said "ah huh". I knew she did not really know me and could hardly speak. Just hearing her voice made it all worth while. Less then two months later she went to be with our Lord. I know you will treasure the memories that you have of your Mom. She will always be with you in your heart and mind.
Angie stay blessed as I know one day you will be reunited together with your Mom

Some days are better than others, yesterday was not so good. the weather was gloomy which is emotionally hard for me anyway with SAD seasonal affective disorder. i wasn't feeling the best, recovering from surgery had on june 5th my foot was sore.
i am an adult but there is still comfort in having your mom nearby or to know that she could be if you needed her, made yesterday hard. but i thank you all for your prayers and concern.
Today is another day, a better day!

You'll never stop missing her, but it will help to remember the good times, the funny things she may have done and all the laughter you two have shared.
I lost my mom suddenly in 1989 (she was 54). I still miss her terribly. Just take this day by day; remember her with good memories!
