TeeVeeCloset, your post in my Mill Creek topic caused me to take the time to actually sit down and watch, Rick's Dinner Guests. And, I want to thank you because it is a wonderful episode. I went back and added to and edited my synopsis in the post, but thought I would put it here, too.
When I get new episodes, I skim over them to check if they are the correct episode, quality, commercials, etc and plan go back later and really watch the episode. I had not done this yet with this episode. Omigosh, this one is great. Ozzie's friends are a hoot when they all try to work together to get the dinner ready, in Harriet's absence. And, Ricky killing time with the girl [Tuesday Weld] and her parents is very funny. And, the price of one gallon of gas, back then . . . Rick's Dinner Guest(s) Tuesday Weld is in it. Sort of another series of mishaps. Rick is having her over for dinner. Ozzie is planning a poker party, but has to change plans because he finds out the girls mom & dad are coming, too. Ozzie goes out to pick up a few things for dinner and a man overhears Ozzie's name and introduces himself and adds that his daughter has invited Ozzie's son to his house for dinner tonight. Ozzie assumes that it is a mix-up and that they are all supposed to go to the girls house. The man says, no, just your son, and that he is going bowling and won't be there. So, Ozzie is off the hook so he can have his poker game at his house and begins planning for the poker party again. When he gets home, he tells Rick that he met the girl's dad and Rick is to go to the girl's home, alone. Rick is confused, but goes over to her house where she is surprised that he came to pick her and her parents up to take them to Rick's house for dinner. Rick phones Ozzie to tell him that they will be coming for dinner afterall, and Dave walks by ready to go to his girl's place for dinner, so Ozzie figures out it was actually the father of Dave's date that he met. So, Ozzie tells Rick to stall with the girl & her family while Ozzie buys some time to locate Harriet to get the dinner going. Rick drives them around all over town, since they are new to town. The most hilarious thing is that they stop for gas [remember Rick is stalling and buying some time] and he only needs 1 gallon and the price was 35 cents, LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Funny stuff with Ozzie & friends trying to salvage the turkey [one of the guys made sandwiches with it] that Harriet was planning for the original dinner with the girl and her parents. Joe is sent to the movie theater to find Clara & Harriet and gets engrossed in the movie and forgets what he is there for. Connie Harper plays an usherette. Back home the guys are making salad, spaghetti and ''canned'' sauce and setting the table, arguing about where the knives & forks go. Rick arrives with the girl and her folks, just as Harriet [never missing a beat] walks out of the kitchen with her apron on, and the girl and her parents are none the wiser. The dinner was a hit and the girl's father tells his wife that she must get Harriet's spaghetti sauce recipe as you can not get sauce that good out of a can. The poker party was descretly moved to the basement. Ozzie mentions poker to the girls dad and they both go down and play poker with the guys. As the moms go to the living room to chat. Ricky sings his guitar-only version of, Never Be Anyone Else, to Tuesday Weld. |

That is a fun episode. Rick traveling around town, showing the 'sites'
The guys cooking at a hoot, and I always like Joe in that one, forgetting all about getting Harriet and he keeps watching the movie. O&H had a great supporting cast. |

Well CJ I'm glad that you got to enjoy this episode again and we certainly did create new life in the mill creek thread...lol....as for the episode, "Rick's Dinner Guests"...from my owned episode list, i don't have it, yet seeing Tuesday Weld (who I love, very underrated, one of the sexiest actresses of the time in my humble opinion, but I digress) in an episode of "O&H" sounds familiar. Did she appear in any other episodes?

8.11 [253] Ozzie & Harriet:RICK GETS EVEN 16Dec59 Prod. no. 27-256 Guest Star: Tuesday Weld (as Cathy) A coed has been giving Rick the cold shoulder - until she puts a dent in his car. She facetiously offers to be Rick's "slave" until the debt is paid off, but to her chagrin, Rick accepts her offer. Rick sings "For You" Des Martin also lists this one, but I can't verify it, but sure wish I had it. I know it is out there somewhere, because I have seen many references to it. 7.26 [232] Ozzie & Harriet:THE OTHER GUY'S GIRL 08Apr59 ABC Prod. no. 27-233 Guest cast: Ted Budny (as Zeke) Tuesday Weld (as Connie) Luana Patten (as Betty) Because Rick suspects that Zeke, a fraternity brother, is dating his best girl, he takes Ozzie’s advice that turnabout is fair play and dates Zeke’s girl. Rick sings "It’s Late." So, most likely three episodes. |

Thanks, TeeVeeCloset, that is good to know.
I really like Tuesday Weld. A couple of weeks ago, I did some looking on the internet about her and was surprised at what I read. Not sure if it is all true, but sounds like she may have had a troubled childhood, at the very least. |

Oh gosh, I loved Sandra Dee, too. ''Gidget'' with James Darren was one of my favorite movies and the movie where her mom recommends using a dog training book as a marriage manual, I think Bobby Darin was in that one. Maybe, ''If A Man Answers''?
I knew about Sandra Dee, but for some reason did not know much about Tuesday Weld. |
