When was NBC going to realize that Hello Larry was a BAD SHOW???-lol - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I mean how many crossovers were they going to do with DS before realizing the show was not a good show? The 3 crossovers between HL and DS may have been the most between two shows in such a short period of time. They were all within 4 months. Even when Laverne and Shirley and Happy Days had crossovers, it was more spread out, not TWICE in 2 months-lol

I'm just glad there wasn't a Christmas ep with the Alders coming over to the Drummonds to spend the Christmas Holiday.

NBC was desperate to make another hit sitcom. Thank goodness, FOL was revamped in 81 or it would have likely joined that Hello, Larry in dead sitcom world!

What would have been cool--letting Ruthie attend Eastland!!

NBC defintely showed how desperate they were with all those crossovers-lol Do you think MORGAN needed to there? It's not like she was Larry's wife

you know, Hello Larry WASN'T that bad - it definitely wasn't a big hit or anything, but the real problem was that at the time EVERYONE in the media was making fun of the show, joking about it and saying how bad it was...

I think that NBC was trying to fight that by tying it more closely to Diff'rent Strokes and hoping the viewers would stay despite the shows' bad rep.

not so much - I don't know if it was backlash against Maclean Stevenson for leaving M*A*S*H or what, but all of the talk shows and everyone saying anything on TV were just making jokes about the the show - nothing specific, just jokes saying "Hello, Larry is so bad that _________" (fill in the blanks)

it was the "IN" joke on TV for over a year, pretty much until NBC canceled it.

I know the SUPPORTIG CAST was awful

did anyone see the password plus ep that had joanna gleason's father monty hall the ep had a different strokes puzzle and monty try as he might couldnt think of the name of the show and he kept say well its on right before my daughter's show can that be a point in our favor the ep is a laugh riot
