I received an email two weeks ago from James Niver's niece relating that Jimmy passed away in December 2007. James was the camera coordinator on TDVDS - what that means is that, since the show was filmed with three cameras, Jimmy would use a central control panel to turn the cameras on and off for each 'take' and oversee the interworkings of the three cameramen.

Jimmy was a VERY cheerful and wonderful man and I saw him several times in the past few years at movie screenings at the Directors' Guild in hollywood with my dad.

he was truly wonderful and will be missed.

Doug, I'm sorry for your loss. So many of the great people of that generation are leaving us now. It's sad, especially since there doesn't seem to be a rising generation of innovators and exceptional talent.

RIP, Mr. Niver.
