I've never hitchhiked and i will never pick up a hitchhiker unless i know that person really well. It's just to dangerous. A friend of mine hitchhiked once and ended up getting robbed.

I never hitchhiked, HOWEVER, once I was walking from work to home. I was going through the park and an old man in a van slowed down and he asked me if I needed a ride. It was a really hot day and I still had a ways to go, so I hopped in the van and he drove me home. Of course everyone I tell that to gets mad at me for getting in a stranger's van, lol.
I'd be too embarrassed to actually hitchhike, though.

Oh, yes. It is risky, and you're sure to meet your share of freaky people. But if you need a ride, don't have a reliable car, can't rely on the people you know, and find public transit not always going your way(or too expensive), it's an unfortunate necessity.

I actually did hitchhike a couple times when I was in my early 20's. I wouldn't recommend it but I was stupid then.

i've never hitchhiked nor do i plan on ever doing it.
no matter what the situation would be, i've seen one too many movies to know what can happen. |

![]() i've never hitched hicked but once when i was on the truck when my dad (he was a big rig truck driver), we were at a rest stop, getting something to eat. we were on our way back to the semi, and we heard a man shout out "hey!" we turned around and he walked to us and asked for a ride. my dad pondered on it and said yes. i was fearing for my life the entire time he was in the truck. thankfully, he was normal. and no i will never pick one up. too risky. |

I once gave a lady and her daughter a ride down the street. She came up to my window and offered me $5 to go like 10 blocks. Not sure why I did it, but it turned out okay; she was stranded after not getting her car back from the mechanics and she had just stopped at the grocery store and had a gallon of milk with her.

No way! I am way too suspicious of people to do something like that. Never picked up a hitchhiker either. I did have a lady at McDonalds ask me to give her a ride somewhere. I wouldn't have anyway, but I had my best friend's 4 and 6 year olds with me, that would have been totally irresponsible to put us all in a potentially dangerous situation with a stranger.
