Hi All,

My DVR/cable messed up when I was watching this episode. This is the one where Opie gets all A's on his report card, but the teacher makes a mistake. On his actual card, he gets lower marks. Andy, Barney, and Aunt Bee give him a new bike, and are worried that Opie would rather study than ride it.

What happens after that? My DVR stopped recording when Barney can't remember the Preamble to the Constitution.

Maybe he thought the teacher was giving him a break... why question straight As?

I think this is pre-Miss Crump. If it wasn't, he'd think she would give him a break due to her being Andy's main squeeze.

I'm pretty sure Miss Crump was Opie's teacher at the time, but this would be early in Andy's relationship with her.

I'll watch this one more closely next time around, before commenting further.

Not then, but many teachers may adjust grades based on a curve.

Helen deserved a punch in the nose for screwing that up. Did she even apologize to Opie for her mistake?
