NEW A-TEAM TO HIRE WILLIS Sunday June 1,2008 By Henry Fitzherbert DIE HARD hero Bruce Willis is poised to star in the big screen remake of The A-Team. He is close to signing a deal with 20th Century Fox to play Hannibal Smith, the leader of the renegade “soldiers of fortune” played by George Peppard in the popular TV show. “He loves the script and thinks it could be a lot of fun” said a Hollywood insider. “The part plays to his strengths, action and comedy and he should be signing any day now.” The remake, with an up-to-date storyline but still sticking to the politically incorrect tone of the original, will start shooting later this year for release in June 2009. In its five TV series, which ran from 1983 to 1986, the A-Team were a “crack commando unit” of Vietnam veterans wrongly imprisoned in a “maximum security stockade” from which they had escaped. The tag-line went: “If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.” Woody Harrelson is tipped to play “Howlin’ Mad” Murdoch and rapper-turned-actor Ice Cube is in the running to be “B A” Baracus, the angry strong man first played by Mr T who is expected to make a cameo appearance along with the rest of the TV cast, bar George Peppard who died in 1994. |

Bruce Willis is a good choice to play Hannibal.
As long as the movie maintains the same spirit as the series, it should be okay. |

I like the choices for the roles except for Ice Cube.
Not really buying that. And stay away from the younger crappy actor crowd (please no Josh Harnett, I'm falling asleep just typing his name) for the role of Face. And no Colin Farrell, I'm begging you. Let him butcher his American accent on some other film. On another note, why do I get the funny feeling that a running gag throughout the movie will be that no one seems to die? |

I think as a goof- if the movie tries to be a bit goofy- it would be funny to see Tom Cruise camp it up as Face. |

I think Jack Nicholson would be good as Hannibal Smith.
