Lightbulb Kelsey Grammer Suffers Mild Heart Attack

Kelsey Grammer's next role will be the one of a recovering patient.

Publicist Stan Rosenfield has confirmed to E! News that Grammer suffered a "mild heart attack" while vacationing in Hawaii on Saturday and that the Frasier star is currently "resting comfortably" in a local hospital.

"He will be released from the hospital early this week," the rep says.

The 53-year-old TV vet was staying at his Hawaiian home with wife Camille when he suffered the attack.

Per Rosenfield, the actor began experiencing symptoms in the morning, after paddleboarding with his wife. He was immediately taken to a nearby medical center, where it was determined he had suffered a mild attack.

Wow, that's terrible news. Mild or not, a heart attack is never good. I think Kelsey needs to slow down, and perhaps give himself a break from the grind of a weekly show. This news is strange also, because I read a lot of the readers comments from BTY and his new show, and I couldn't count the comments of fans saying he should just enjoy his money. Make a movie or two a year, and enjoy his family, fame and fortune. Something tells me this isn't a man who can be stopped. He's very ambitious and loves to use his talent. Prayers for a speedy and successful recovery. I love the guy.

Kelsey has been an inspiration to me. He has suffered so much loss in his personal life and he learned to move forward to live his life to the fullest. I went through a very painful loss years ago. After learning what Kelsey went through and how he fought back and surivived inspired me as well.

Get well Kelsey. You're my hero.

I wonder if he ever suffered from any heart-related illnesses before this, because you're right it's never a good sign. He definitively must have been under a lot of stress lately and the hot weather didn't help either. When I first heard the news I immediately thought of his young kids.

As far as work is concerned, maybe this is a sign that he shouldn't be on a single camera project right now working 14-16 hours a day Back to You is perfect for him, 3 hours work a day, lots of rest and quality time with his family !!!! ...

While I would LOVE to see Kelsey back on 'BTY,' his health is first and foremost on my mind.

I am in the midst of trying to get an update on the show's status, but no word as of yet.

I completely agree (and I loved your previous post, Janice!). Kelsey Grammar has got to stay with us for as long as possible. He's a great talent, and one of the last few amazing comics and actors we have left. He has got to know how much we all appreciate him!

And thanks for the soon-to-be update, Brian! Can't wait to hear what the latest word is for the powers that be.
