I've put this in alphabetical order. I've only included sitcoms in this list (so Monk, which is more of a dramedy, couldn't make the list).
Shows from 1982-2008 are included. And while this is an opinion list, it seems really official. ![]() 1. ALF 2. Andy Richter Controls the Universe 3. Arrested Development 4. Back to You 5. The Big Bang Theory 6. Boy Meets World 7. Charles In Charge 8. Cheers 9. Coach 10. Corner Gas 11. Coupling (UK) 12. Curb Your Enthusiasm 13. Designing Women 14. 8 Simple Rules 15. Ellen 16. Empty Nest 17. Everybody Loves Raymond 18. The Facts of Life 19. Family Matters 20. Frasier 21. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air 22. Friends 23. Futurama 24. Get a Life 25. Gimme a Break! 26. The Golden Girls 27. Growing Pains 28. Hey Dude 29. Home Improvement 30. The King of Queens 31. Less Than Perfect 32. Married with Children 33. My Name Is Earl 34. Newhart 35. NewsRadio 36. Night Court 37. Perfect Strangers 38. Phil of the Future 39. Reno 911! 40. Roseanne 41. Salute Your Shorts 42. Seinfeld 43. The Simpsons 44. Step by Step 45. 30 Rock 46. That ‘70s Show 47. ‘Til Death 48. Titus 49. Too Close for Comfort 50. Wings |

1. ALF
6. Boy Meets World 7. Charles In Charge 8. Cheers 13. Designing Women 14. 8 Simple Rules 18. The Facts of Life 19. Family Matters 21. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air 23. Futurama 25. Gimme a Break! 26. The Golden Girls 27. Growing Pains 28. Hey Dude 29. Home Improvement 31. Less Than Perfect 32. Married with Children 34. Newhart 36. Night Court 39. Phil of the Future 41. Roseanne 42. Salute Your Shorts 44. Step by Step 46. That ‘70s Show 50. Wings ^^^These are all the ones that I've seen and also liked. I don't necessarily find them all hilarious ("ALF" isn't LOL funny to me, but I still love it), but they're all very enjoyable, I think. Some additions I would make are "Reba," "The Nanny," "Keeping Up Appearances," and "Family Guy." |

I think Murphy Brown definitely deserves a spot on that list. Not only was it one of the most successful shows of the 90's, it was by far on the funniest.
The Nanny, too. It wasn't the most successful, but it was definitely one of the funniest! The Cosby Show, The Drew Carey Show, and Mad About You deserve a spot as well! |

And as for all those other shows, I had them on my list originally (except for The Nanny, which I never found funny) but because this was only 50 sitcoms, I had to shave them off the list. And also, I'm not going by success. Just what's funny to me. I mean "Andy Richter" only made 19 episodes, but I think it's one of the funniest sitcoms of all-time. |
