Speed Racer - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I had nothing better to do so I went to see the movie. I found it to be a disappointment and I know why this movie failed. The CGI is too much it's overwhelming and they strayed from the the cartoon Racer X orgin. There is some Matrix moves in the film, it just got too unbelieveable for me. They took some of the tv series bad guys and put most of them into the film. Wait for this one when it's on dvd and rent it, watch the original series instead. I would have rather had them expand the original series first two episodes instead of changing the whole story the way they did. Anyone from my era probably won't like this film. Peter Fernandez, the voice of Speed in the original cartoon had a small part in the movie, but I didn't recognize him.

I saw the movie too, I didn't really like it. I agree that it relied far to much on CGI. I also found most of the character annoying. It just didn't do the cartoon justice.
