Default What shows do you miss?

Maybe some still come on TV and someone can help us find them.

I found 'Mama's family' recently on ION. I know this one isn't That old but I still love it.

The Encore Western Channel on Dish has old western shows. My husband loves them!

I love Lucy is on TVL but they are taking it off when the contract runs out the end of this year.

Chiller TV on dish plays a lot of the shows like Alfred Hitchcock, Night Gallery, Tales From The Crypt.

Know any other old shows and channels they are on?

A lot of my favorite shows aren't on TV right now or have lousy time slots.

The Donna Reed Show - Recent news of a DVD release made me realize how much I love and miss this show. It was THE show on Nick at Nite to me back in the late 80s.

My Three Sons - The same with Donna Reed. It was another favorite of mine from the classic Nick at Nite era. I prefer the Mike-Bub years, but I enjoyed the series all the way through. I miss this show A LOT!

Hey Dude - Another favorite of mine that I haven't seen for years! I keep hoping they'll release it on DVD and maybe they will, but I'm very impatient.

The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis - I enjoyed this show on Nick at Nite and wish it were on some channel (or especially DVD) these days. To me, Bob Denver is Maynard more than he's Gilligan.

The Patty Duke Show - Another classic Nick at Nite show, I had a crush on Patty Lane (oddly enough not Cathy, so I guess it wasn't looks for me, lol). I want all these shows back!

California Dreams - I watched this every year it was on. I knew I wasn't watching great television, but I really enjoyed it. I taped some episodes off of TBS, but I didn't get them all (I don't think TBS ever showed the final season) and I have since lost the tapes.

I'm big on TV-DVDs, but none of these shows are currently available, though a couple may be coming out soon.

We have bought a lot TV-DVDs and like you, there are many we'd love to have that we can't get.

My Three Sons was one of my favorites!
They came out with Hazel season 1 but now I'm doubting they give us the other seasons.

When I was a kid I loved Ma and Pa Kettle and The Egg and I.
I finally got all of those on DVD.

I miss good old sitcoms and dramas, instead of all this reality junk - I hate reality TV with every fiber of my being!! Thank goodness for all the classic shows on DVD - I own several and check a lot out from the library.

I also miss seeing the classic WB cartoons of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester and Tweety, etc. I don't understand why NO ONE is running these cartoons.

8 Simple Rules.

It never should have been canceled. ABC has yet to replace it with a comedy.

I miss:

Many '80s sitcoms that I've yet to watch on a regular basis:
- Mr. Belvedere (I loved that theme song!), which I haven't seen since the early '90s.

-Newhart (1982-90) I only saw the 1st two seasons of it and haven't seen it since the early to mid '90s.

- Punky Brewster (last reran in 2005?), even though I saw all 4 seasons of it, I still barely remember most of the show Thank heavens for the DVD's!

Non-sitcoms:
- "CHiPs"
- Hill Street Blues (I only have about 3 or 4 episodes burned on CD).
- St. Elsewhere
- Adam-12 (I've never really seen this show on a regular basis, but hopefully one day Me-TV picks up this show and air it after "Dragnet," since they are rerunning "Dragnet" at the moment.)
- "Hunter" even though it was rerun on both TV Land and Me-TV, I've still yet to see the original 1991 series finale episode.

And technically Mama's Family is a spin-off from the Carol Burnett Show, since it originally started out as a sketch on CB.

I wish Dish would pick up Me TV and RTN.
We can't get cable so dish is our only way to go. We had direct at one time but they wouldn't give us any local channels, we can get ABC, NBC, CBS through AllAmericanDirect with dish.

When I last had satellite, Boomerang had abandoned showing the old WB cartoons. Did they bring them back? In any case, no one else is showing them and I would love to get the DVDs, but I have too many things on my to-buy list.
