Mrs. May Brown played by Ronne Troup. I felt so bad for her. She was an emotional reck. Maggie for very fortunate to get Sam back. Mrs. Brown loses out because:
Her son Tommy was killed in an accident. She grew attatched to a boy her hubby kidnapped and even he was taken away from her as well. Her husband gets arrested for kidnapping. She must continue to cope with the death of her son. She must also cope with her husband's deceit. That is a lot for a grieving mother/wife to take. What do you think happened to the browns afterwards? |

CPS? Whew! I didn't think about that one. Maybe Bobby could have stayed under his mother's care.
I can't confirm that this issue was based on a movie. I do know around the mid 80s that there was a lot of controversy about kidnappings. The Milk Cartons, The "no, go, tell" lectures in school. When I was in second grade (months before "Sam's missing aired), someone came to my school and talked to us kids about what to do. Kidnappings were a hot topic back around that time. There were other TV shows like "Punky Brewster" that covered the issue. |

No one acts like that in real life who lost a son, I would have divorced her crazy A$$ if I was that guy.
She was no longer mentally able to be a mother to the other boy, she should have been put away-lol |

Solomon! LOL. How could you say something like that? That woman has had a rough time. I don't agree and would not lock her up. It doesn't have to go that far.

Of course. The woman is still in mourning. You and I have never been grieving mothers that lost children in an accident. |

Tom I don't think anyone acts like that who lost a child, and if they did I wouldn't want to be around them because they would make me nervous |

Solomon, how could you say nobody acts like that in real life?! People DO act like that when mourning the death of a love one! So what if she was a zombie and anti-social?! Can you blame her?! Like Thomas E said, you have never been through something like that, so it's easy for you to say something like that! Yeah, life goes on, but this is something we humans have to go through at some point! Some people can't take death very well!
Boy, you need some serious help! I would think a 32 year-old man like yourself would have a more mature respond than that! |
