In 75-James wants a gun to protect his family and Florida didn't want a gun at all in the house and it took Michael to shoot the Gun for James to change his mind at the end

in 82-George wants a gun to protect his family and Louise didn't want a gun at all in the house and it took Baby Jessica to shoot the gun for George to change his mind at the end

See what I mean??-lol Only thing that didn't make sense was George lived in a less dangerous neighborhood unless Manhattan had a dangerous phase in 82

I think George still felt the fear of what it was like living in Harlem. More so now because he was rich and he had more to lose. He was even more of a target to a robber.

But shouldn't a building like that have had security?-lol All that money and you have to worry about getting robbed

Just because a person is rich or has money, doesn't mean that they don't have to worry about getting robbed no matter how nice your neighborhood is. Also just because you live in a security building doesn't stop strangers and robbers from getting in. That's just false security.

You said it! When you are rich you have more of a reason to protect yourself because people don't rob poor people.

So true. I don't even trust the security measures at the airport!!

You'd be a fool to trust security in a building. I am not saying go out and buy a gun. But to merely answer the question of why George felt the need to protect his family since he lived in a security building. Didn't you all watch DEATH WISH???

Unless I live at Fort Knox, I wouldn't trust any building.

I live in a similar neighborhood that the Jeffersons lived in and the fact that the crime rate is so low, I was surprised that George was being so paranoid-lol Like on my block, WHICH YOU SAW IRENE ON TV, it's always busy and robbers just don't target these kind of areas.

Thank your lucky stars. I am not paranoid either where I live. But if I suddenly lived better than I did before (like George) I would wonder if there might be a desperate person who might want to rob me or hijack my car, kidnap my kid for ransom, etc. Mind you, I worry no matter what abt those things. I just wonder if I ever was FILTHY RICH would the worry kinda turn into a paranoia somehow since I feel I am more of a target.
