After an excruciating---for me anyway---4 day layoff, the NHL Finals are ready to begin tonight. In case you forgot, they feature the NHL's #1 team in the regular season, the Detroit Red Wings, facing the #1 player and gate attraction, Sidney Crosby and his Pittsburgh Penguins. This should be a long and exciting series which should provide some excellent entertainment for even the most casual fans.

(And besides, there's nothing else on!!!

All games will start at 8:00 pm Eastern time and will be seen on CBC in Canada. In the US, the first 2 games will be on Versus and the rest on NBC. If you don't like either option, you can watch the action live on CBC.ca.

The schedule will look like this:

Game 1: Tonight in Detroit

Game 2: Monday in Detroit

Game 3: Wednesday in Pittsburgh

Game 4: Saturday in Pittsburgh

If Necessary:

Game 5: Monday June 2 in Detroit

Game 6: Wednesday June 4 in Pittsburgh

Game 7: Saturday June 7 in Detroit

As for my prediction, my heart says Pittsburgh, my head says Detroit, while the rest of me is still thinking it over. For now, I'll take the Wings in 7.

I think Pittsburgh has too much offensive firepower, speed and size. Eventually they will wear out Detroit. I will take the Penguins in 6. They were rusty in game 1.
