I remember my mom giving this to me when I was little. I was having separation anxiety about going to school and not being home with my mom. I had missed 2 days of school already because I made such a fuss crying and pleading. It was late at night and I was crying again that I didn't want to go to school in the morning and my mom went into the walk-in attic and came out with Punky. She told me Punky would be my friend that I could take to school so I wouldn't be alone. I brought her to school every day and when I had to leave my classroom (I was in advanced reading and had to go to another room with other kids who were at higher reading levels) I would sit the doll at my desk
