I was watching a rerun of Sanford on BET last weekend and I was surprised at Redd Foxx's appearance.
He seemed to have aged alot in the 4 years between S&Son and Sanford, his face, his voice, his agility. He just seemed tired. I wonder if his personal lifestyle contributed to it? Did he eat alot of bad foods, drink, smoke? Im guessing he wasnt a real healthy person in real life. Chris |

Being a heavy smoker and drinker definitely takes its toll on a person's looks though. Did Redd Foxx walk that way in real life, with that sort of limp? He did look older for his age, but didn't have wrinkles. It was the hair that made him look older. He may have been tired at the end of the series. I imagine it's a grind, especially for someone who's not in the greatest shape to begin with.

I have a ep of the Redd Foxx Variety Show from 1978 and the first ep of Sanford in 1980 and he looks the same to me.
