For starters, I think Larry Storch was great in this. He played the character
very well. I didn't think I was watching Corporal Agarn. The castaways dressed as natives scene is hilarious. Didn't Ginger look great? But how did they get those outfits together so fast? The Indigo Mob was approaching fast. The Indigos are supposed to be another gang, right? I used to think they might be cops. My husband always--consistently--comments on what a dope Gilligan is in the "leave it a little--what?" segment. (This is despite the fact that he, himself, blurts out stuff he's not supposed to and I have to Shhh him. Do you think at the end, when Gilligan throws the anchor that it is just an accident or he does it on purpose? Is the look on his face one of anger or merely of struggle in throwing the anchor? Or does he maybe accidentally hit the boat but just throw it angrily? I can't fathom how Gilligan was making that million dollar bill. It also amazed me how the men jumped themselves up when they were strapped to their cots (by the way, what's the sleeping arrangement in this one, where are the hammocks--are all the men sleeping together?). That looked hard to do! I felt sorry for them when Farrell came back and they had to get back down again. |

I've always liked this episode, and I agree, Larry Storch was great!
Yeah, Gilligan blurting out was rather stupid, but on the other thing I think he acted wisely when he found out Jackson was a mobster. If only the Skipper hadn't believed Gilligan! I wonder why they have such a hard time getting the gun away from Jackson, but in "The Little Dictator" it's relatively easy to erase that danger. Of course, you can't say they didn't try. I love the part where Ginger stages the quarrel between her and the Professor. --I love his confusion, and his face when he realizes what she's trying to do! (on that note, did anybody else notice how the Professor seemed to hurry out of the jungle just to carry whatever Ginger was carrying for her? ) But back to the particular event in question, I think this shows alot of bravery on Ginger's part. But I also wonder, why did she back off when her hand was oh so close to the gun. Even if Jackson did know what she was up to, wasn't he in more danger than Ginger?sorry about the delay of response lm! |
