Default Anybody Remember "Small Wonder"?

Another one of my childhood shows. It was about this family; the father invented this girl robot and she used to "help" them around the house. Most of the cast in this show, especially the child actors, have never appeared in anything else in the media after this show ended.

Some critics have said that this was one of the worst sitcoms of all time. Did you see it?

Yes, I watched it when it was on the first time in the 1980s when I was a little kid. I actually have Emily Schulman's autograph!

I liked it. I actually thought it was a pretty good show. It was made for
first-run syndication, but (in my opinion) it was better than some network
sitcoms of the time.

Great series....I have the first episode recorded of WNEW-TV Channel 5 in New York......they had good first run syndication series in the 1980's like The New Gidget, The New WKRP, What's Happening Now, New Munsters, It's A Living just to name a few!

The one and only!! She is now retired from acting and works as a talent agent under the name Emily Hope.

"Emily Hope is a twenty six-year veteran of this business. She was a successful child actress starring in three television series, including the early Fox hit “Small Wonder” which ran for 5 years, and the Emmy Award winning “Christy” with Tyne Daly on CBS. She also appeared in a variety of television guest star roles, after school specials, feature films such as “Troop Beverly Hills,” and over 200 commercials. After attending Bennington College in Vermont, and the American Musical Dramatic Academy in NY, Emily began working behind the camera. She worked as an assistant for Abby Bluestone at Cunningham, Escott, Dipini, (CED), and Shiffman Ekckan, Morrison and Mann (SEMM) in New York city. Upon returning to LA, Ms. Hope worked for Doug Ely at Abrams Artists, before establishing her own department at Acme where she has made her happy home for the last 9 years."

I totally remember her from "Christy"!! And how funny that she was also in "Troop Beverly Hills" which also featured her co-star from "Christy", Kellie Martin!

That's right. I loved Christy (even though I love the book more - I've read it 8 zillion times since 1994 and have worn out several copies) and my grandmother and I would watch it together. My grandma passed the next year, and Christy is one of my most vivid memories and highlights of that time.

As for Troop Beverly Hills, I have fond memories of it as well. My Girl Scout troop watched it a few times together. I loved being a Girl Scout and TBH captured a lot of that fun. Betty Thomas even graduated from my high school!

I read the book myself. Recently tried to watch Christy again on DVD, but my patience was wearing thin on it, so I gave up--maybe it was just not a good time in my life to attempt it.

TBH is a fun movie! Saw it several times too

I didn't buy the Christy DVD because I hated how they changed things around - and once they brought back a dead character (not saying who!), this nice family drama became a cheap soap opera. It should have just been a limited miniseries that followed the book.

I will say that I LOVE Christy and Dr. MacNeill together - both in the book and the TV show. They had awesome chemistry.
