Default Archive Find: Jimmy Walker '83 ABC "At Ease"

I love hearing if anyone remembers watching long forgotten and never to be seen again shows and this one fits the bill! My archive find this weekend was an episode of the one season sitcom wonder "AT EASE" with a favorite Jimmy "JJ" Walker. This one aired Friday nights at 8:30PM...It is a military comedy... the episode I found is from March 18, 1983 and centers around the gang starting a dating service, the title is "Computer Dating". A subject being approached way ahead of its time! Does anyone remember watching this one?

I can't even remember that show. Paul, you hit on gold there. Do you ever transfer your Vhs into DVD?

This would be a good post to put on the Good Times board.

Yep, I remember watching "At Ease" for its entire run. It had a good theme song if I remember correctly. I enjoyed it and I think Jimmie Walker was actually good in his role here. I was sad that ABC canceled it, I thought for sure it would have gotten a second season.

Yes that has been part of the reason I have been going through the archives and transferring old 3/4 umatic tapes, reel to reel tapes and VHS tapes to DVD so as TV Land used to say when they cared "I am preserving our television heritage" Good to always here from you lovely Irene!

he plays a supporting role in that show so it's not really centered around him, that's what happened to him by 83-lol

He may not have had the success he found on Good Times, but he was honored as the Comedian of the Decade (probably the 70's) and he makes a living as a speaker and not bashing Good Times. He is not bitter like some other kid from the 70's.

I think it’s because he was a grown man when he did GT and he was actually grateful for what became of his success. He knows what it is like to really struggle to make a living. He didn't grow up rich like some of the others people
