Default Support Dolly Parton for what has Howard Stern had done to her. Fire Howard Stern.

Dolly Parton vs Howard Stern. Sock Jock Mr.Stern is or Dolly is going to sue him for slicing into her songs and adiou books by making sexual remarks on his talk show. Ms.Parton is going to probably win,Howard Stern has been in trouble before about his doings by making fun of other stars. Can some one put up a artical about this.

Dolly Parton to sue shock jock Howard Stern over fake tape

May 16 2008

DOLLY PARTON plans to sue notorious US DJ Howard Stern after he broadcast a faked tape that made her sound like a racist pervert.

Stern's team cobbled together old recordings of the country star and manipulated her voice to make it sound like she was bragging about performing sex acts with stars including Burt Reynolds and Kenny Rogers.

The fake Dolly also cursed and swore and made vile racist remarks.

Mortified Dolly, a 62-year-old devout Christian, told fans on her website: "I cannot believe what Howard Stern has done to me.

"In a blue million years, I would never have such vulgar things come out of my mouth.

"They have done editing or some sort of trickery to make this horrible, horrible thing.

"Please accept my apology for them and certainly know I had nothing to do with this.

"If there was ever going to be a lawsuit, it's going to be over this.

"Just wanted you to know I am completely devastated by this."

Stern, the highest-paid DJ in America, aired the "Dolly" tape on May 6. He has used the same trick in the past to embarrass stars including Oprah Winfrey and William Shatner

Default Sorry Dolly Parton, the law is on the side of Sirius' Howard Stern

Link

Howard Stern, the reason why many people subscribe to Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. has upset country legend Dolly Parton.

The singer is madder than a rattlesnake trying to bite a fencepost at the self-styled King of All Media for splicing together audio segments that made it appear that she was saying nasty things about celebrities including Kenny Rogers, Linda Rondstadt, Burt Reynolds and Johnny Carson, according to the Associated Press.

In a statement posted on her Web site, the singer/songwriter said she had never been so "shocked, hurt and humiliated in my life...Please accept my apology for them and certainly know I had nothing to do with this. If there was ever going to be a lawsuit, it's going to be over this."

I am sure that any lawyer Parton contacts -- or an law student for that matter -- will tell the writer of "I will always love you" that she doesn't have a snowball's chance of prevailing against Stern. The First Amendment gives performers the right to say vile things about celebrities in what is obviously a parody. Remember Jerry Falwell's fight against Hustler magazine which he lost in the Supreme Court? The same concept applies here.

Parton also seems to be getting some bad public relations advice.

Had she just ignored the bit, most people would have probably simply forgotten about it and Stern would have moved onto his next victim. By picking a fight with Stern, she is creating a publicity gold mine for the "shock jock" and his boss Sirius Chief Executive Mel Karmazin. This also is good news for Sirius shareholders because it shows that Stern is worth every penny that the company pays him.

If Parton really wanted revenge on Stern, she should hire some comedy writers and sound engineers and splice together sound bytes from the author of "Private Parts" that make him look stupid. I am sure it would annoy Stern but like Parton there would be nothing he could do about it

Me too. Dolly's as dumb as she is flat chested which makes her one smart cookie. Bet she'll win. I've seen her on shows and she's got a VERY FAST WIT & is very shrewd. Howard Stern's a d*ck--hope she wins big time & wipes the floor with him. He is such an overpriced jerk. I'm putting my $ on her. Any woman who can write a song that has racked in $8+ Million in royalties IS PRETTY DARN SMART. I heart her. Any time you want to hear me wax poetic abt Dolly just let me know!!

While I don't agree with what Howard Stern did, I still like the guy. When I was a horny teen, I LOVED to watch his show on E!. Good times, good times.

However, I've never listened to his radio show (on the actual radio). And with his television show off E!, it's been a while since I've heard/seen him.

Well, it's satire. If Dolly and Co. just ignored it, the segment would just lie forgotten in the vaults. But by bringing attention to it with a pending lawsuit, she has made more people aware of it than if she just blew it off. People know it's just goofy satire, and don't take it seriously. People are aware that Stern likes to make a name for himself with tawdry comedy, and as despicable as he can come across sometimes, his fake tape is not going to harm her reputation. Most people don't have access to satellite radio, so it wouldn't harm her career as much as she may think, I would think. No one's career has suffered just because Howard Stern has made a parody goof of a celebrity. People can be offended, but people can flip the dial. People have some idea as to who Stern is and how he makes his livelihood. He's being silly with his bit, and Dolly Parton can't change the fact that people are going to rag on her.

Think of the Hustler parody twenty-five years ago where Jerry Falwell was depicted as an incestuous drunkard in parody alcohol ad in Hustler magazine. He sued, but later lost Even "upstanding" religious figures are not immune from criticism and satire. People understood that the fake ad was fictional.

I listen to Howard on Sirius. He has done this to countless celebs. Nothing new. Obviously to Dolly it is new since she doesn't listen to his show. It all started with George Takai from STAR TREK fame. They play his clips a lot and they are a riot. We know it is satire. Dolly must think she is the only one they did this to. She is better off saving her money and not give it to those lawyers who should have told her this is an old bit of Howard's and best to remain quiet abt it. Oh but of course, these are lawyers, they just want her money.

Stern is a disgusting , rascist, misogenistic piece of pig poop; I can't stand his show where he litterally assassinates people's characters "for shock effect" then hides behind freedom of speech laws....In Canada, he was taken off the air, too bad the same can't be said in the USA. Understand that I'm no fan of Dolly's but, she deserves the same protection as Carol Burnette got when the Inquirer falsely claimed she was a drunkard! (Carol won that case BIG....and the Inquirer has been a lot more careful what it has printed since)

Ohhhh Mikado... The Enquirer still has said some pretty nasty things abt people that are not at all true. Celebs just don't bother suing.

Howard and his crew are not making any false claims abt Dolly. Magazines adjust and edit and photoshop photos of celebs all the time, making them skinnier, fatter, legs full of cellulite, putting their heads on a different body, etc. It is done all the time. I don't agree with it. But what Howard does, he tells his listeners what they are hearing. He doesn't pass it off as Dolly actually saying such crude stuff.
