Life As Us
Starring Megyn Price as Melanie Pruitt, a San Francisco happily married wife and mom who works as a private art gallery owner. Melanie and her loving businessman husband, Alex Pruitt (Kirk Cameron) have been married for past 14 years and they have a 11-year-old son, Jordan (Paulie Litt). The Pruitt family is often visited by Melanie's flaky, quirky younger sister, Heather Ramsey (Christina Moore) who is a bit unreliable and irresponsible when it comes to her numerous former jobs, but wants to settle down and start a family of her own someday soon. Also, Melanie and Heather's often-bickering but truly-in-love parents, John and Marla Ramsey (Gerald McRaney, Jean Smart). John is a former Navy man who has just entered retirement, and Marla is a successful real estate agent who fears of being showed up by her much-younger, equally-driven new colleagues at the real estate firm. Alex and Melanie are often accompanied by their longtime close also-married friends, Tony and Amy Potter (Patrick Dempsey, Brooke Sheilds). Both, Tony and Amy work at the same firm as Alex, a marketing executive who works for a successful, big-time advertising firm. Tony works as an efficiency expert, and Amy works as an advertising executive. Watch how the Pruitts, the Potters, and the Ramseys all deal with the trials and tribulations of living their day-to-day lives in San Francisco. Cast Of Characters: Megyn Price as Melanie Pruitt Kirk Cameron as Alex Pruitt Jean Smart as Marla Ramsey Gerald McRaney as John Ramsey Christina Moore as Heather Ramsey Paulie Litt as Jordan Pruitt with Brooke Sheilds as Amy Potter and Patrick Dempsey as Tony Potter |

Episodes:
Ep1: Pilot Episode: Melanie and Alex go out for dinner with Tony and Amy at a new ritzy bistro in town, where Heather is also dining with her new boyfriend (Matt Damon). After inviting herself and her boyfriend over to eat with the Pruitts and Potters, Heather begins to learn more things about her new boyfriend--which aren't all that flattering (i.e. he has a thing for self-obsessed women--which doesn't settle well with Heather). Meanwhile, Jordan is spending the night at John and Marla's, where Jordan ends up getting himself roped into listening to John's long, drawn out, well boring Navy stories. Ep2: Stupidity Is Heredity: Heather learns her boss is about to replace her for a smarter, younger college graduate (who happens to be her boss's mistress' daughter). Heather decides to keep her pride and quit her job (instead of having her boss fire her). However, hours later, Heather learns her (now former) boss had no intentions of firing her, instead he was going to promote her. Meanwhile, Melanie tries her hand at making pottery after a potential customer praises her creativity and potential. Melanie's newfound ego-boost soon deflates when her pottery attempt turns out to be less-than-desirable. Elsewhere, Amy gets stricken with the flu and Tony ends up cancelling his golfing plans with Alex to stay home and take care of his sick wife. Ep3: My Brother's Significant Other: The Pruitt family becomes anxious to the news of Alex's younger brother, Matt (Christopher Masterson) coming to town. Well, when Matt arrives, he is not exactly alone, he is visiting along with his new transsexual girlfriend, Shannon (Candis Cayne). Alex and Melanie are estatic to find Matt dating again (after losing his former beloved fiancee to cancer two years ago), but are confused and concerned when they learn Matt is dating transsexual Shannon. After unintentionally insulting Shannon and Matt for dating her, Matt becomes furious and decides to leave with Shannon. After Matt's storming out, Melanie persuades Alex to go after his brother and talk it out. The brothers end up talking it out and Alex convinces Matt and Shannon to come back so they can have a second chance to get introduced and visit. |
