Branaugh Men

Starring Woody Harrelson as Wayne Branaugh, a divorced fortysomething-turned-single dad of a teenage son living in their Baltimore home. The popular radio talk show host, Wayne lives with his 17-year-old son, Matt (Erik Per Sullivan) in Wayne's condo. Wayne and his ex-wife/Matt's mom, Maggie Wilson (Molly Shannon) has split custody of Matt, who lives at both of his parents' homes. Maggie has since her divorce from Wayne, remarried her second husband/attorney, Kevin Wilson (Steven Weber) and the mother of her and Kevin's 10-year-old daughter, Diana (Elle Fanning). Matt is your average teenage boy who likes to spend most of his free time with his cute girlfriend, Kayla Morris (Emily Osment) and his longtime best friend, Justin Thomas (Jason Dolley). Wayne chums around with his co-host/friend, the quirky, bubbly single mother Christine Bishop (Cheryl Hines) and his fun, commitment-free girlfriend, Amy Davis (Lauren Graham). Also to make matters worse for Wayne, Wayne and Christine's new station manager is being replaced by none other than Wayne's ex-sister-in-law, Carla Sanders (Sela Ward) who has always buttheads with Wayne. Watch how the Branaugh men and their families and friends live their day-to-day lives.

Episodes

Ep1: Pilot Episode:
Wayne and Christine learn of their new station manager--Wayne's ex-sister-in-law, Carla. Wayne immediately doesn't like the new situation, due to his and Carla's rocky relationship being on bad terms (ever since they first met). Meanwhile, Matt along with Justin and Kayla begin first day of their junior year of high school. Also, Maggie and Kevin celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary, but can't agree on a restaurant.

Ep2: Civil Servants:
While Wayne and Carla attempt to remain civil towards each other at work (much to both of their dismays), Matt ends up becoming blackmailed by Diana when she learns of his getting detention during first week of school and Matt ends up becoming Diana's personal servant. That is, until Matt's principal calls and informs Maggie, and then both Matt and Diana get punished.

Ep3: Adventures With Janey Woods:
Matt and Kayla get roped into double dating with Justin and his new girlfriend, Janey Woods (Amy Bruckner). Janey's constantly-chipper, bubbly, non-stop talking personality irritates both Kayla and Matt tremendously, but after seeing how much Justin likes Janey, agrees to put their feelings aside and try to give her a chance. Meanwhile, Wayne and Amy briefly discuss the issue of marriage after learning one of their "couple friends" are getting married.

Ep4: Not A Chance In Hell:
Christine gets Wayne and Amy's permission for her to pose Wayne as her fake boyfriend to fend off unwanted attention from a clingy ex, Mike (Jon Cryer). Meanwhile, Maggie and Kevin set Carla up with one of Kevin's bachelor buddies, Andy (Patrick Warburton). Andy's macho, male chauvinist ways end up putting Carla off big time, whereas Carla's bitterness towards men turns Andy off too---creating a rather awkward dinner date between the two.

Ep5: Life Isn't Peachy:
Matt must deal with Kayla's sudden "closed-off" personality, due to learning her once-happily married parents are now divorcing. Matt tries to stand by her and help her through the rough time, but Kayla now is coming to terms and beginning to re-question what her definition of true love is, afterall. Meanwhile, Amy tries to comfort Wayne after he copes with a few recent battles of impotency, which makes him question his masculinity and worries him tremendously--even though, Amy thinks its just a fluke and nothing to worry about. Elsewhere, Maggie isn't too fond of the idea of Kevin representing his old high school girlfriend, Kim (Felicity Huffman) as his new client seeking help through his divorce settlement.

Ep6: The Good, The Bad, And The Unwanted:
Kayla eventually comes around and apologizes to Matt for her recent behavior, and the two go out on a dinner date to fancy restuarant to celebrate matters (and talk further about Kayla's parents' divorce). Also, Wayne becomes disgruntled when he learns Christine and Carla went out for drinks together one night. Meanwhile, the Wilsons take in an unwanted lost puppy, but looks can be deceiving after the puppy's cuteness turns out to be a front and he becomes 'the dog from hell' within the first day. The puppy becomes everyone's worst nightmare and gets on their last nerves, especially when he chews on Maggie's favorite shoes, pees on Kevin's court documents, takes a bite out of Matt's ankle, and attacks Diana's beloved childhood stuffed animal.

Ep7: Trick Or Treat?:
Matt, Kayla, Justin, and Janey attend a Halloween-themed dance, where Justin has planned to surprise Janey with their first real kiss, but keeps getting interrupted by Matt and Kayla. While out trick-or-treating with her daughter, Christine bumps into Maggie and Diana, which creates some awkward tension (since Maggie always thought Christine had feelings for Wayne-while he was married to Maggie). At home, Kevin is stuck giving out candy, and ends up dealing with a group of rowdy teenagers (with TP and eggs in tow). Elsewhere, Wayne and Amy attend a costume party, dressed as Barney and Betty Rubble, but end up getting stuck in traffic and feuding over who's directions caused them to miss the party entirely.

Ep8: Good Old Grace:
Carla and Maggie's boozy, man-hungry romance-novelist mother, Grace (Joan Collins) stops by for a visit with her daughters. Carla is less than thrilled with her mom's unexpected visit, due to being constantly reminded of her biological clock ticking away. Maggie is feels unprepared and has always been trying to gain her mom's approval, which is something Carla believes she will never see. Grace's arrival proves to be common ground for Wayne and Carla, who find solace where they both share some feelings towards Grace--despite how she always liked Wayne and thought the world of him. Meanwhile, Amy and Christine go out for a girls night and ends up having the time of their lives.
