Lightbulb UPDATED 'Back To You' Memorial Briefly Outside Fox

UPDATED: Below are photos of an unscheduled upfront week event. Early this morning, because the sitcom Back to You had been cancelled, upset fans made a "memorial" in front of the gates at Fox studios. And the star of the sitcom Kelsey Grammar even posed for a picture beside it. (I just heard that Kelsey found out from my website Friday night that the show was cancelled!) I can confirm that "CBS has shown interest in Back To You.") There were candles, balloons, floral bouquets, over 30 sympathy cards, neckties in honor of "Chuck", and American flags. I was initially told that Fox security removed the memorial, but now fans are telling me it's still there and even being expanded. But everyone connected to the show, especially showrunner Steve Levitan, knew about it and appreciated it.

Continuing from my post on the other thread, I think that's great that fans of the show did that. That will right there garner more attention upon a possibly renewal of this show. I hope CBS was paying attention to that!!

That is just wonderful. I love to see this kind of support for the show we all enjoy so much. These actors have made us laugh all these years. It's nice to see fans out there showing their love and support.

I didn't realize it was cancelled. Very unfair - the show's first season was truncated due to a writers' strike and wasn't given a fair shake. It figures - the show was finally beginning to gel in the last couple of episodes and now this!

It deserves at least one full season.

Anybody remember a couple of first season flops called M*A*S*H and All In The Family??

The whole first season wasn't highly rated. It would have been cancelled in less than one season today, but Grant Tinker, the then-NBC president had produced shows like Mary Tyler Moore and Bob Newhart and renewed the show, giving the audience a chance to find it.

Like M*A*S*H, it had a low-rated first season, but went on to an eleven season run.

Someone commented on Deadline Hollywood saying that the memorial is still up in LA and people have been adding to it all day!

Maybe the memorial was moved to a different spot?

Maybe the top guns at Fox had security take it away. They have done this once before.

Good, hopefully our friends in L.A. can continue adding to it. As much exposure as possible is prudent.

Unfortunately, networks seldom, if ever, learn from their mistakes.
