Default Elisabeck Hasselbeck Offers View of Post-Baby Body

Hasselbeck Offers View of Post-Baby Body

"Body image has nothing to do with scale numbers, it's how you feel inside," the bubbly "View" co-host explained in the magazine's June issue. "This is the first time I've felt free from that, because I am working out in a way where I feel so strong that there's no room for those doubts."

Hasselbeck, who turns 31 this month, worked out for seven weeks to prepare for the cover shoot. Running is her preferred mode of exercise but she acquired her rock-hard belly with twice-a-week ab work.

Her various allergies meant she had to work with a nutritionist during the intense training period.

"My choices are limited right now" she said. "I have celiac disease -- which means I'm allergic to gluten, the protein in barley, wheat, and rye -- and I'm breastfeeding."

Which part of her body is she most proud of now? The Rhode Island native said she's noticed a drop in spasms felt in her back and that, also, she "came to grips" with her "bum."

"Before, I always tied a shirt around my waist when I went for a run. It was ridiculous. Here I am trying to wean my daughter from her blankie, and meanwhile I'm hanging a shirt around me to cover my rear like my own security blanket. I finally told myself, "I'm not doing this anymore -- I have nothing to hide."

"I finally told myself ... 'I've got some curves, I've got a bubble butt, but I don't mind, because it's what powers me forward when I run.'"

Hasselbeck lit up at the photo shoot when asked about her two children, calling motherhood her "proudest achievement." The former "Survivor" contestant and husband Tim Hasselbeck, an NFL quarterback, have a 3-year-old daughter, Grace, and son Taylor arrived in November.

I don't have anything against her, but her calling herself curvy.... That must be some revealing article, how she lost those 5-10 pounds and all!

You're quoting her out of context. She uses the curvy remark in reference to her ample butt. Five to 10 pounds, the gal had a baby. I'm sure it was more than that. Good for her that she didn't gain 60 pounds and carry it for years, like certain actresses.

I still think that word is funny in reference to her. And yes, it's good that she didn't gain that much weight like others have. That way she wouldn't have to worry about people saying overly hateful things about her due to her weight like Leah Remini went through.

Like Leah Remini. It seemed like a good two years before she shed her weight. She never looked the same.

I never said anything hateful about Leah, but I was and and am of the opinion that when women are in show business, they should keep up their end of the bargain. The premise of her show was the hot wife with the fat husband. I always admired Elizabeth Montgomery. She had three kids during the run of Bewitched, and looked great after each child. I know it's easier for some, but still. Just my opinion, and not a hateful one either.

Leah would've never been hired at that weight. That is a fact. How long did it take her to lose it all?

Oh, I know you didn't, but some people were awful about her. The names kept coming and coming, and she unfortunately saw some of it. According to what she's said in interviews and even recently in her blog, she tried everything she could and the weight just wasn't coming off. Eventually she found something that worked and is back to her original weight.

Elizabeth is a total MILF.

If you don't know what a MILF is, Google it.

I used to go on a diet every February to lose about 12 pounds of winter weight. It would take me five weeks, if that. When I turned 40, talk about hitting a wall. LOL. It took forever to get it off. I still do it, it's just not as easy. Leah was still young when she had her baby, so it could have been something hormonal going on or something.

I wasn't watching the show steady back then, but I'd say two seasons. When I catch a show in the early pre-baby years, I can't get over what a great figure she had.

Wow! I may not be a fan of "The View" (never have, never will), Elisabeth has such a great body and is such a sweetheart. I'm probably the only one who remembers watching her on "The Look for Less" on the Style Network (anyone else remember that show?).

Elizabeth looks real good. She looks like how she did before she ever had children.

I find Leah to be absolutely gorgeous, post baby fat too. She had that booty going on and even though she may not have been able to flaunt a flat tummy to the world, the way she dressed for her weight was very stylish and classy. Leah is a great example to many women who don't or can't lose the weight immediately and carry the post baby fat for sometime.

Losing weight, firming and toning is easy if you have the incentive, the home gym and/or a personal trainer.

I remember after having my two girls I gained a much better body than what I had prior to ever becoming pregnant. It gave me curves and of course, thanx to my first pregnancy, I got on top what many women pay a plastic surgeon to have implanted.

My third pregnancy I barely gained any weight because of my back problem.
