Ah-ten-shun! Gomer Pyle and the gang are back on DVD for the fourth season of Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. This next-to-last season still contains all of the antics of Gomer that we saw from the first three seasons though, as he does more things that are just plain dumb and other things that seem dumb that turn out to be very smart. Well golllly!

And just as I suspected we are forced to accept another season with a number of cut episodes. I like Gomer Pyle, although it's not high on my list of favorite shows. If it was a top favorite of mine, I'd be really pissed about these cuts in the episodes. I'll probably order the DVD anyhow and enjoy the episodes for what they are, but the cuts/changes in the episodes due mainly to music issues is totally ridiculous. I see no good reason at all why they cannot put all the original uncut episodes on the DVD. It's all a pile of BS and legal nonsense.

EXACTLY! That IS B.S. about music rights on shows! How come it was never a problem when the shows were first filmed or taped?
(I know it was with "WKRP IN CINNCINATI" but they got around it by doing the show on tape, instead of film which they wanted to) |
