OT: Could someone please help me download a video? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Hi,

This is an odd request I'm sure, but I would really appreciate the help. My Dad won an award and was featured on our local news. There is an interview with him on the station's website. I would like to download the file, if at all possible. I have tried using Orbit Downloader and YouTube Grabber to no avail. I'm not sure what format the video is in, but I'm guessing it is a Flash format of some type. I also imagine the quality wouldn't be so great, but my family I would appreciate having this saved so I can show it to my kids some day.

...if you used a screen grabbing tool that does video as well as still screen shots you could grab it. That's not downloading it per se, it's creating a movie of what's displayed on your screen So there will be a little degredation of the quality, but that might be a plan B.

Have you considered just asking your local news for a copy? Often, they will do that for the people involved in a story.
