Default Brieannas & Jude: BET and the actual scheduling of ADW

I noticed last night the 11 p.m. airings were the episodes they aired the night before at 3 a.m.

So BET is not airing 4 new episodes a night. They are airing 4 episodes, but the 2 episodes airing at 3 a.m. are being repeated that evening at 11 p.m.

BET basically is airing two episodes a day/night instead of 4.

BET is only airing four new episodes each for Diff'rent Strokes and Malcolm & Eddie, because those shows are expiring soon (Aug. 31) and they want to air the most they can if they don't renew. BET is sharing the rights of Different World with Nick at Nite, The N, (and any other Viacom station) so the deal is through June 2009. So it has more of a duration than Strokes and Malcolm & Eddie.

Be on the look out for Sunday evening blocks of A Different World. they are never in a set time, but usually are anywhere between 6:30-10pm.

Well, it helps that BET, Nick and The N are all part of the same corporate family.

But is BET going in order on ADW?

Yes, BET goes in order quite well with all of their sitcoms.

I hate the fact that they are airing the ADW so late at night. I want to record all of the episodes that I can. I guess I'll have to start when they start to air season 3

I had stated the same thing (as you stated above) on the DS board where I said if they are airing 4 new episodes a day, it is because they must be trying to hurry through the series. I thought you said that was not the case? Maybe I read it wrong.

Anyways, yesterday we were discussing the 4 episodes they air on BET and we were mistaken. We assumed they were 4 new episodes. Not 2 episodes that were shown at 3 a.m.

They are not hurrying it up to air Diff'rent Strokes, they are trying to air the episodes as many times they can since the contract is almost running out. Even if they aired it just two times a day they would still finish the series before August 31. It's not like they are hurrying to finish the series and drop it. Maybe they want to air two full rotations.

Each contract has a set number of plays per episode. For example, the Three's Company Nick at Nite/TV Land contract from 2000-2007 had it where each episode could be aired 25 times (not counting repeats within 24 hours).

This Sunday they're having another mini Marathon, it'll kick off the 3rd season. I think it starts at 7pm or 8pm central time
