Iron Man, although you need to throw in Indiana Jones, and The Dark Knight into the mix.

It's hard to say...

I don't think Speed Racer is going to be a top movie this summer, but I think people will see it out of curiousity - and it's PG, so parents might take thier kids to see it.

But I think Iron Man will win again this weekend.

i have no idea. this will be a close call. iron man looks neat, whilst speed racer looks awesome. the thing is though, before the film came out, not many people had heard of speed racer, other than fans of manga and japanese anime, whilst iron man has always been one of marvel comics prominent superheroes. robert downey jr is well casted and looks in great shape as tony stark. looks like this one might be a tie

They aren't competing against each other this week. Right now, it is Speed Racer against Iron Man.

Since Iron Man came out last week, Speed Racer should be #1 this week (the newer BIG summer movie should always edge out an older one in its first week).

If not, it's really bad news for the SR camp.
And Indiana Jones comes out next week.

I actually expect Iron Man to be #1 again

Actually, you are probably right, and I guess I am wrong with the whole idea of Speed Racer beating Iron Man this week. Apparently it is expected that Iron Man will be #1 again.

From Imdb:

Racing For Second

Few analysts expect Warner Bros.' Speed Racer to win the box-office race this weekend. The film -- likely to attract mostly families with small kids -- is expected to gross around $30-35 million. That's about a third of what Iron Man earned a week ago, so if that film drops even 60 percent, it would remain at the top. Analysts suggest that such a plunge is unlikely, especially given last week's exit polls indicating that it may even do considerable repeat business. Today's (Friday) Los Angeles Times indicated that Warner's top execs are concerned that Speed Racer has been tracking so poorly that only "a narrow sliver of boys 7 to 11 years old" seem eager to see it. Warner's marketing chief Sue Kroll told the Times that she was "bewildered" about the tracking surveys, noting that preview audiences have responded favorably to the film. "There is a disconnect between how people react to the film and what the tracking is indicating," she said. The studio's concern is no doubt amplified by the fact that the movie may have cost some $250-300 million to produce and market. Analysts are also not betting that What Happens in Vegas will hit the jackpot. The 20th Century Fox film, the only other major movie to open wide this weekend, is expected to earn around $15 million, perhaps less.

What's gonna hurt Speed Racer is that as a family movie, it should be running around 90 minutes--not 2 and 1/2 hours.
