The Big Bang Theory - 10/10

When I first heard about this show last summer I didn't think it would be anything special. "The kid who got pushed around by Darlene on Roseanne and the hot chick from 8SR. No big deal." Man was I ever wrong. I saw some more promos and then I saw the pilot and was blown away. The show was hilarious from the start and it just keeps getting better. Finally a show about nerds, for nerds! All the characters are funny, including Kaley Cuoco who is much more than just some "hot chick". Sheldon and Leonard have excellent chemistry. Raj and Howard are great supporting characters. The writing is great too. The best new sitcom of the season and probably the best sitcom since Arrested Development. An instant classic!



Back to You - 9/10

Heaton and Grammer have great chemistry together. The show is hilarious and the writing is top notch. Great supporting cast, especially Marsh. The cast changes didn't hurt this show so FOX better get their act together and renew this show for a second season.



Carpoolers - 6/10

Not really a LOL funny show, but I liked the carpool scenes and the soundtrack was good too. The episode where Rebecca Romijn guest starred as Laird's ex-wife was pretty good.



The Return of Jezebel James - 4/10

I liked the pilot but the other 2 episodes FOX aired, weren't good at all.



Unhitched - 3/10

I think a critic said it best when he said Unhitched was Unwatchable. Rashida Jones left The Office for this?



Welcome to the Captain - 2/10

Not even seeing a nearly naked 67 year old Raquel Welch could save this turkey. The show just wasn't funny. Jeffrey Tambor was underused and the lack of a laughtrack or studio audience on the laugh-track/studio audience filled CBS Monday Night lineup just made it seem out of place.


Samantha Who? - 2/10

I like Christina Applegate, but she deseves better. It's sorta like a female version of My Name is Earl. I prefer the original.



Cavemen - 0/10

Easily the worst sitcom this season. Probably the worst sitcom of the decade and that's saying alot. The caveman commercials were actually funny. Had they used the same actors/characters from the commercials, this show might have worked.

Both of these are rated far too high. I'd give Big bang Theory a 7, but back to You about a 5.

You forgot about Aliens in America, the best new sitcom to come on network TV this season. I'd give it an 8.

It has the feel of a Malcolm in the Middle or That 70s Show and the family dynamic is done realistically well.

I totally agree on The Big Bang Theory. It is definitely a 10. Not only is is the best new sitcom of the year, but it is the best new sitcom in several years. Hopefully, it will keep growing and growing for years to come. Great ensemble cast and a show that actually is funny.

Back To You I would give a 6, Samantha Who a 5, and the others are a total waste. Does anyone actually watch this Aliens in America ?

I agree with your ratings, although I'd give Samantha Who? a higher rating more like a 6. Carpoolers I'd give about an 8.

I would give Back to You the highest rating with a 9. The show has kept wanting more the entire season, no matter what episode it was. The chemisty between Kelsey and Patricia is absolutely amazing, and the all the characters come nicely together (especially in the newsroom). I think the cast changed did hurt the show a little, the only reason why I wouldn't give it a 10. I watched Wednesday's episode with Ayda Field, and I was saying to myself how much I'm gonna miss her being on the show. A huge mistake on FOX's part.

I'd give Big Bang Theory an 8/10. While the show is great and hilariious, the writers seem to put too much emphasis on some characters over others. I think the re-breakout star of the show is by far Kaley Cuoco. I absolutely love every scene she's in, but she's rarely the center of the episodes, which is a huge mistake, especially when Sheldon usually is.

I thought Carpoolers was a decent sitcom, probably a 6. It was a shame it was on ABC. They just never gave the show a chance. They main reason I watched, though, was Faith Ford - she's just amazing.

If you are waiting for more Kaley (Penny) on The Big Bang Theory watch the last two episodes this season starting Monday. This week she plans a surprise party for Leonard's Birthday, and next week could Leonard finally ask Penny out ? Tune in to see, should be episodes with lots of Penny in them.

I would give BTY a 10. It is the only sitcom that I make sure I watch every week. The only other new sitcoms I saw this year was Samantha Who and Aliens in America. I have to agree with Justin... SW isn't that great. I'd probably give it a 5. I love Christina Applegate but the show isn't that funny. Aliens in America, I'd give a 7 too but it's already been canceled. Figures. I've yet to check out BBT but maybe I'll catch it in reruns this summer.

Sorry to tell you, but Back To You was just canceled by FOX. You should definitely try The Big Bang Theory. It is really funny. Give at least 3 or 4 shows, before deciding if you like it. It is a little bit different, some people need to see a few episodes before they like it.

The Big Bang Theory - 9/10
Maybe I'm biased because I'm a geek an I get all the references, but I love this show and laughed my way through every single airing of every episode.

This show just wasn't my thing, I'm not saying it was bad, just not the type of show I get into, so I couldn't manage to watch an entire episode

Carpoolers - 4/10
I don't know what was wrong with this show, but the few episodes I watch didn't make any sense and had no laughs for me.

The Return of Jezebel James - 5/10
I had very high hopes for this show, Lauren Ambrose and Parker Posey are great and this show SHOULD have been better, but they screwed it up somehow.

Unhitched - 5/10
I missed only the first 2 episodes of this show, it definitely had some laughs, but it also had some painful - VERY painful moments to watch.

Welcome to the Captain - 7/10
I found it quirky and funny, I loved all the characters and it had some pretty original writing.

Samantha Who? - 6/10
Christina Applegate is great and this show has its moments, but I don't think it lives up to all the hype.

Cavemen - 0/10
I still don't understand how this show even got made at all.

Aliens in America - 4/10
I only watched a few episodes, but I just couldn't get into this show at all.

I agree on the Big Bang Theory being too Sheldon themed when it came back, but if you notice they went back to being an ensemble cast the last couple of weeks. It looks like the last two episodes of the season will be the ensemble cast, too. The last one is going to be a real good one with Leonard finally asking Penny out.

Nice thread! My overall scores are middling to low, simply because none of the new sitcoms make me laugh as much as, say, "The Office" does on a regular basis.

Samantha Who?: 7/10
The cast as a whole works for me, which makes me more invested in the story, even when it's not funny 100 percent of the time.

Back to You: 6/10
Patricia Heaton and Kelsey Grammer get all the glory, yet I watch for Fred Willard and Ty Burrell. The last two are always funny, whereas the first two are sometimes funny (and they even get tedious on occasion).

The Big Bang Theory: 6/10
The best thing going for it is, without a doubt, Jim Parsons' Emmy-worthy portrayal of Sheldon, this season's most instantly unforgettable new character. Still, "How I Met Your Mother" and "The New Adventures of Old Christine" are funnier and more interesting in my book (and I do get the geek and pop culture references).

Miss/Guided: 6/10
Chris Parnell, sure, but I give major props to Judy Greer.

Aliens in America: 5/10
Nice family-friendly companion to "Everybody Hates Chris" that so did not deserve the ax. The CW should have given it two seasons, minimum, to develop a following.

Carpoolers: 5/10
It worked for me much better than I thought it would, although it definitely had its up episodes and down episodes. I'm glad to see Jerry O'Connell has already landed a spot on Fox's upcoming "The Inn"; he was the biggest surprise for me.

Unhitched: 3/10
There were some ridiculously funny moments, but there were also too many ridiculously stupid moments that made me shake my head in dismay. I agree, though: Rashida Jones leaving "The Office" for this = Totaly ill-advised career movie of fire-your-manager proportions

If only the cast and characters and plots and setting and everything hadn't been so bland and derivative... Fran Kranz did a good job playing a schlub, though, and Chris Klein also had a moment or two. Al Madrigal's Jesus? Most annoying TV character ever, hands down.

Not as godawful as the advance critical trashing led me to expect. I laughed a few times, and I could sit patiently through entire episodes.

Inexcusably bad, especially with a name like Amy Sherman-Palladino attached. I'm not even giving it a point for the couple of times I laughed because a name like Amy Sherman-Palladino was attached (I should have laughed at least a dozen times with that kind of pedigree).

I only included the shows I actually watched at least a couple of times. I never got a chance to see Aliens in America and now that it's been cancelled, it doesn't look like I'll ever see it, unfortunately.

I forgot to add one show though, and that was Miss Guided. I saw a few episodes and thought it was ok. Liked the main character and Parnell was funny. 6/10.
