Default Jessica Simpson Claims That Her Films Are Not Flops

Jessica Simpson has taken aim at movie critics who call her films flops. The pop star/actress insists box office sales show she's actually a good luck charm for movies.

She protests, "For people to say Employee of The Month was a flop is ludicrous. It made the money back - that's not a flop. For people to say The Dukes of Hazzard was a flop - it opened at $30 million. If these movies are flops, why would I still make them?"

Unfortunately for Simpson, her last film, Major Movie Star, really was a flop. After opening in just eight cinemas in Texas in December, the film was released on DVD. It has since become an unexpected hit-- in Russia.

"If these movies are flops, why would I still make them?"

You make them because they are the only offers you get dodo head. Beauty but no brains.

How much did it cost to make Dukes?

Actually...hoo boy, can't believe I'm saying this: Technically, many of her movies AREN'T flops. In order to be a flop, you, generally speaking, need to make less than it cost to make the movie between theater and home video (unless it's a super-high-budget flick, in which case you're compared to the market-at-large.) And most of her movies meet this goalpost, technically meaning they're NOT flops.

Now, are they any good? Dukes was mediocre, the rest terrible.

^ Seth is right, her movies were not all flops. Dukes raked in 80 million and 105 million worldwide. Employee of The Month made 30 million. That used to be considered good. He last movie bombed. She's not claiming to have made blockbusters, and all actors have a bomb or two under their belts. Perhaps she's tired of the criticism and is just setting the record straight. A quick search on Jessica reveals she's not the dumbo everyone thinks she is, although isn't she the one who thought buffalo wings were make from buffalo? She was a kid.

I got dizzy reading her music resume. Seven Billboard Top 40 Hits, two gold, three platinum albums, double platinum. She probably should stick with singing, although she had a very successful reality series. Forbes listed her making 7 million last year, with a net worth of 79 million .

Last year, I waited for over an hour in a doctor's office. I was reading magazines like crazy, and one had a beautiful layout of Jessica Simpson. I swear at that time, I couldn't tell the difference between Paris, Britney and Jessica, well not really, but I was clueless. Anyway, this was one of the most stunning magazine photo layouts I'd ever seen. I think it was for Vanity Fair. That girl is gorgeous, classic old Hollywood beauty. I remember one dress, They had her in black and white striped dress with the hat, gloves, purse. It was kind of retro, looked like something out of the 40s. I'm going to order Duke of Hazzard from Netflix, and judge for myself.
