Default Season 5 and Season 6

Does anybody else agree that the last 2 seasons of TFP weren't that good? Som e episodes weren't bad but most had the same, boring, overused plot and the jokes got old. A common theme in the 5th season especially was Will and Lisa getting into a fight over something stupid, making up and everything being alright. Then Will had to dress up in a fat suit to spy on Lisa; everything was Will and Lisa and there was too much of them for me; it didn't become the Fresh Prince, it became one big argument. The series focused less on Carlton, and more so on corny plots, Will's stupid moves or Will's boring relationship with Lisa. I would of still liked to see a 5th and 6th season, maybe even a 7th and 8th but they should of definitely re-done it. Baby Nicky was hella annoying, nobody liked the new Vivian, Uncle Phil seemed way more shallow as so did Will and Geoffrey become a near nobody, except when his rich, spoiled son came to visit. Anybody agree, thoughts on Season 5/6? The only episodes worth watching to me was bullets in bel-air, the finale (I, Done Parts 1 and 2) and acouple other episodes. The final 5-10 episodes all had unclever titles and plots, one being a fight at the dentist? C'mon now.

seasons 1-4 of the fresh prince were the best and funniest. when the second vivian and baby nicky arrived and appeared in the fifth and sixth, the show wasn't the same as it was afterwards, and plus some of the episodes got too serious for its own good as well.

i hated it when as you mentioned it, will dressed up in a fat suit and when will was hypnotised and behaved like a 3 year old. that so embarassing and stupid.

one of the episodes i did enjoy watching was the one where it had william shatner in it

Eventhough the show did go a little downhill from season 5 onwards (or "jumped the shark"), there were some good episodes like "Same Game, Next Season" or "Three's a Crowd". Nicky was a waste of time in the show.

^ wasn't the william shatner one, the one that had the plot that had something to do with going to the dentist or something? I can't remember but couldn't put my finger on who guessed starred in that episode, so thanks for reminding me. and what was same game, next season about, I can't recall from the name? seasons 1-4 were definitely the best. The finale was good but it seemed kind of weird, the set looked brand new for some reason to me, and it didnt look like the Fresh Prince.

I didn't like all of the Lisa eps, either, but some of them were OK...I think those were mostly Season 5...I didn't really like the hypnotize ep either; even though they did it OK physically, that idea's been done before I think.

But regarding Season 6, I thought the last 10 episodes were actually pretty good. I think the cast knew it was coming down to the end, and they had that last-month-of-school-in-senior-year-of-high school feel to them.
I mean, I really liked the two-part finale, I liked the dentist one with all the Star Trek jokes, I liked the golf one, I loved the one where they tried to save the horse and Ashley got the Jet cola ad, and I really liked the one where ashley and carlton competed for the choir parts.

Maybe all those weren't Season 6, but I actually didn't think it was that bad...I loved Seasons 1-3, I coulda done without some of the Jackie eps, didn't mind Lisa for the most part, and thought it finished up OK.
Just my two cents.

yes, the william shatner one was when will, william shatner and carlton were at the dentists and because of the laughing gas, they all behaved silly and out of control

^ eh, didnt really like that episode. it's so hard to pick the best episode of TFP. you def. have to narrow some things down, like there aren't as many/not any, maybe acouple good episodes in the final 2 seasons. the jokes got corny, concepts got old, even new concepts were horrible. it was some stupid plot to get carlton and will in trouble, and wasn't funny, it was corny, overused humour by the time season 5 came along. then you have to narrow down the episodes that have a message, not too sappy, corny or built up, but something that can convey something to any audience out there, more so the younger generation. then you have to look at the special episodes, along with the hilarious episodes, which is hard, since probably 130 at least, episodes were funny/had great jokes throughout, out of the 148 total episodes. then you have to break it down to maybe 10 select episodes that you think are the best out of those categories/your fav. id say, Philadelphia Story is one of my fav. 1. I live in the philadelphia/new jersey area, so it's cool to see them go to philly, see a phillies game, the scenery etc., i just loved everything about that episode. and it makes me hungry seeing them go to the cheesesteak spot! you know philly has the best ones for sure. i feel for whom the wedding bells toll was a ok episode, wasn't bad, but not great for being a special episode in the series. the episode where will and carlton trick geoffrey into winning the lottery was priceless. even when geoffrey was working at the restaurant after unintentionally leaving the banks house, the jokes were funny. the series premiere, the fresh prince story i believe it was called, was one of the best. it's hard to explain but something about series premieres, introducing all the characters and their hilarious personalities gave NBC something to cheer about for awhile with TFP.

1. Philadelphia Story
2. Winner Takes Off (the lottery episode)
3. I Done, Parts 1 and 2 (series finale)
4. The Fresh Prince Project- Pilot Episode
5. Granny Gets Busy
6. Papas Got A Brand New Excuse
7. Bullets Over Bel-Air
8. Hex And The Single Guy
9. Where Theres A Will, Theres A Way Parts 1 and 2
10. Those Were The Days/Christmas Show

also the one where phillip and vivian go back to their old burnt apartment to clean up

^ those are some of my favs, probably my fav. eps, in no order. although it's hard to pick your 10 fav. TFP episodes, some i liked, but it was hard..

I liked those last two seasons too. Daphne Maxwell-Reid (who by the way joined the show in its 4th season, not the 5th) wasn't half as funny as Janet Hubert-Witten was, but I still think she was okay for the part. Nicky might not have brought so much to the show, but there have been far more annoying child stars on sitcoms (*cough* Olivia on the "Cosby show" *cough*). And I actually really liked Will's relationship with Lisa. I haven't seen 6th season that much though.
