HOUSTON — A man used Kelly Clarkson’s name to steal a pickup truck from a Houston dealership Thursday, according to police.

The man called the dealership and said he was an associate of the Texas-born “American Idol” winner.

He made an appointment, saying the singer was in town and looking to buy her sister a brand new Ford F-150.

The smooth-talking crook convinced the sales manager to drive the truck to the Westin Galleria, saying he wanted to show it to Clarkson in person.

The pair left the truck with the valet and went inside.

After a few minutes, the man said he was going to get Clarkson to show her the vehicle.

Instead, he got the truck from the valet and took off.

The truck was worth about $50,000.

On Friday, police arrested Adam Fuller, 27, of Spring. So far he has only been charged with two counts of being a fugitive, but officials said other charges are pending.

I'd steal a Lexus for that kind of money.
