A cable network could always pick it up, since ION only has the broadcast rights.

I know many do, but I have seen it being aired so many times, it seems like it never went off the air.

In my area, it went from NBC to first run syndication, then M-F reruns, then TBS, then ION, so it almost has never been off the air. Wish Warner would just release the darn series on DVD.

that's how it is with me. went from TBS, haven't heard a word. Then saw it on ION.
Anyways, yes. I want Mama back on TV. I hope this show doesn't die like so many others have. The networks need to show new shows anyways instead of the same old crap like Just Shoot Me, Seinfield, and Friends.

Yes.
I just want it on a channel that I HAVE, though.

ION said they don't want to be known as the Mama's Family channel. My translation: they lost the contract. The cable contract is probably up for grabs, unless CMT still has the rights. TVL would be smart to pick it up...

ION didn't lose rights. They have it as part of their Warner Bros. library deal.

Not to mention ION is broadcast......there is nothing stopping a cable channel from picking up the series, correct, Pav?

Hello everyone! I cannot believe that ION dropped Mama's Family! It was bad enough they only had it on 3 days aweek lateley. I urge everyone to boycott ION since without our favorite show, there is nothing else on the channel worth watching. I am so disappointed, and hoping that another channel will hear our pleas and pick up this proven ratings winner! Also to PLEASE release season 2-6 on dvd.

No problem boycotting ION. Since there is nothing else I watch on there anyway. (That Drew Carey commercial alone is enough to make me not watch the show!)

They will probably regret dropping it....

I'm sure as soon as something else flops (as it is bound to do on ION), Mama will prolly be back! shoot, you can't tell me that there are hordes of viewers salavating over The Wayans Bros. or The Steve Harvey Show.
