On an episode of "Are You Being Served?" called "The Agent", Mr. Goldberg is shown counting off a large wad of cash with great joy.

Assuming Mr. Goldberg is jewish, isn't this a bit anti-semitic or am I way off base?

I don't think there's one single ethnic group that doesn't get their turn with non PC humor on AYBS? It was just the way the times were in the 1970's. I haven't seen the show in years but I remember Asians, Scots, Arabs etc. were all stereotyped. The Brits are pretty class-minded.

Basically, every character on this show is a stereotype of some sort or other.

Are You Being Served was definitely not politically correct -- however it was definitely hilarious and never mean spirited!!

Since my PBS station no longer carries the show, I'm just happy that I taped so many episodes.
