That's a like a new episode for me! it's one of those I missed while taping the run on Nick. Man, CBS needs to release this series on DVD, pronto!

That's cool to know. It's always a good feeling to know you've pointed someone in the direction of "new" Lucy.

Great! One reason I appreciate this clip is because of the complexity involved in pulling off this scene. This is a case where every detail mattered, beginning with the script. It had to be written in such a way to, first of all, get Lucy in this predicament. For example, getting Lucy and the other wheelchair-bound woman to switch places. There were also all those moments where the actors couldn't be facing one another, and other moments where they *had* to face one another. Or certain actors could not face Lucy, but had to face another actor, and vice versa. For this, all the timing and pacing was key. So the writing had to be precise, and the director had the burden of figuring out who goes where and when. Also, the set design had to be structured in a way to make it all work, and for all the comedy elements to work. And of course the actors also had to be in the right place at the right time and looking in the correct direction at the appropriate moments, and they had to be in sync with one another. Then there's Lucy. I doubt she had had much experience operating a wheelchair, much less doing comedy in a wheelchair. Additionally, she needed strong arms. Anyone who's used a non-motorized wheelchair can tell you they're not easy to get around in. But there's Lucy racing around and making quick moves. And remember, from the day they first saw the script, they only had a couple days to learn it all and perform it.
