Disney Distancing Itself Away From Miley?

Disney bosses are preparing to push Miley Cyrus aside and replace her with a more clean-cut teen star, according to reports. The 15-year-old's image has been damaged by the release of 'sexy' images of her in June's edition of Vanity Fair magazine.

E! Blogger Marc Malkin claims the Disney Corporation is deeply unhappy with Cyrus and her bosses are already lining up a replacement in 15-year-old Selena Gomez, who has starred alongside Cyrus in her Hannah Montana TV show.

Malkin writes, "I'm told Disney executives are so worried about Cyrus' recent controversies that, more than ever, they want to make Gomez an even bigger star."

I seriously doubt that Disney is going to kick Miley to the curb any time soon; but let's face it, she probably has only another couple of years left before her popularity slips and Disney moves on to their next tween sensation.

Oh I agree, 'Hanna' is a cash cow for Disney. Especially since there is a movie coming out relatively shortly.

Miley had better lay low for a while. This little scandal will blow over, and Hannah Montana will continue to rake in the bucks.

Disney may be partly to blame for all of this. I have a friend who works for Radio Disney and has done some background work for Disney Channel shows, and she says that in their contracts, they are not aloud out to clubs, parties, certain movie preimeires etc, for fear of the "Britney" exposure.

From what she said, they hold their own parties at each other's homes and let loose...some more than others. They are all tweens and teenagers making a lot of money. It is no surprise that they act this way.

really? wow. i wonder if was in fine print. jesse mccartney is a disney star (sorta) and i saw him in a magazine and he was walking away from a club he couldn't get into with a few friends

I agree. Let me give you a couple of statistics: 5 years ago, Hilary Duff was moving away from the phenomenon known as "Lizzie McGuire". Miley is running down the same road that Hilary went. She's moving away from the phenomenon known as "Hannah Montana", snd by the end of 2009, people will know Miley Cyrus as Miley Cyrus; no more, no less. When "Hannah Montana" ends, you'll see the other co-stars go to oither endeavors, For someone like Mitchel Musso, the next step is going to college. 5 years ago then-"Lizzie McGuire" co-star Adam Lamberg was a freshman at UC-Berkeley. In 2006, Lamberg graduated from UC-Berkeley. If Musso can survive college, he can go on to more things than just besides acting.
