Default When did the crew decide that Steve and Laura should get together?

Does anybody know when the cast and crew decided to make Steve and Laura a couple in the end? In the earlier seasons Laura ignored Steve a lot, but they got closer through the later seasons, and it's so clear that Laura had feelings for Steve but didn't admit it til the last seasons. What do you think?

This is not a thread if it was a good or bad choise of them to get together, I just wonder WHEN they got the idea, if someone knows)

Default In my opinion

Even though Steve Urkel was annoying and clumsy as hell, Laura still cared about him and was a good friend to him. Laura may have ALWAYS wanted him to go home or to leave her alone, but deep down she liked him and he made her life complete.

Laura even stands up for Steve in some episodes and Steve always stood up for Laura because he loved her. He even changed his body molecules to become STEFAN for Laura's affections. If a man is willing enough to undergo EXTREME scientific makeovers for the woman of his dreams, then maybe he isn't a bad guy after all (unless he was THE FLY ).

But anyway, Steve and Laura had a history together, and when Steve was going with Myra, Steve couldn't handle it because in a way Myra was JUST LIKE HIM! Steve and Myra may have been custom made for each other, but deep down, we knew that Steve and Laura were PERFECT because they were polar opposites and as you know, opposites do indeed attract. Myra noticed that fact and tried to do EVERYTHING in her power to make sure that she would be the ONLY woman in Steve's life, right down to putting a video bug in his glasses.

Laura and Steve got together because of US, the longtime fans of the show who were rooting for them to even go out on a date or even kiss each other, and even get engaged in the final season. Steve never gave up and Laura noticed his persistance over the years and finally decided to give him a break.

That's what I think about that whole thing.

I never believed in that stupid "opposites attract" saying. That's just bogus. Laura was never the one for Steve. She was an ugly shallow bitch, who thoufght she was drop dead gorgeous and all that, even though she wasn't, and Steve should have gotten over silly his kindergarten crush on her in 1rst grade. Myra was the one for Steve. Even that girl Susie, who Steve dated in an early episode, would have been a better choice for him.

And hch, what the heck do you mean about "us fans" rooting for Steve and Laura getting together? Because I know I never ever rooted for that stupid ship! Even back in the 90s, when I was only thirteen fourteen years old, I always hated the very idea of Steve dumping Myra for Laura! I was so angry when he kissed Laura at the prom! And so many fans agree with me.

Well, the thread wasn't about that. And Laura can't help what she look like.

What I meant was that Myra was prettier, so Laura didn't even have that going for her, so I don't understand why Steve chose her over Myra.

Cause he loved Laura. I know you don't think this could happen in real life, but some things in the show isn't real. I think Steve and Laura are a great couple.

You sound silly saying Laura was UGLY, we all know that wasn't true

I think it was even more unrealistic than the transformation chamber and the time machine, not to mention how annoying it was to see Myra being screwed over, even though she was the good girl in the love triangle.

I'm sorry, but when Kelly Williams appeared next to Michelle Thomas and all those girls playing Eddy's girlfriends, not to mention how bitchy and unpleasant her character was, she sure came across less than appealing to me.

It was only one person on Family matters who was ugly, and that was EDDIE

Haha, I have no opinions about his look. What makes you think he is ugly?

Nah, I don't think Eddy is ugly. And well... Laura may not be ugly either, come to think of it. But she's rather average looking, while Myra is just like a little doll. So it's not like Steve could have chosen Laura over Myra because of looks, that's what I'm saying.
