Default Have ever heard of a person resigning from a company and RETURNING???

My friend was telling me about a guy who resigned at her job and returned a couple of years later. I never thought that was possible. I guess I just thought everyone was programmed not to return to a job they already handed in a resignation for. It would never even cross my mind to REAPPLY to a job I was already working for in the past

Well If your're a good Employee and leave in good standing, most companies would more than likely hire you back, If you wanted to come back, and they had an opening available. It happens more than you would think. People leave jobs for better ones, only to find out that it wasn't what they expected, so they go back to the original one. I worked for a company a few years ago, where that happend alot, and most of the time, the company would hire them back.

I saw it happen once, at a company I worked for. The person had moved out state for a few years, then came back to the company.

Now that sounds like a way an employee can comeback but I'm just so surprised someone would go backwards on their resume-lol

Same here. Several people at my company have left and then returned. So it's not out of the realm of possibility.

It's totally in the realm of possibility. Some office careers, software development comes to mind, are a bit like pro sports that way because some kinds of programming are very specialized. I actually tried reapplying to an old comapny once, but that didn't work out out. Several people got shunted around three or four companies until they wound up where they started, though.

That happened twice here at my job. One guy left but was working here part time but came back to work as a full timer. One girl left she did not like the new position she had, so they let her come back, it is a good thing that they hired a temp to fill her position.
