Did Kelly make the right decision regarding Gracie & Chuck?

I realize it's the premise for the show, at least for these early days; still, do you think Kelly made the right decision in not telling Chuck that she was pregnant with his child? Evidently, Chuck was/is a ladie's man who can't commit to a houseplant, much less a child. Kelly felt that Chuck wouldn't be a positive influence in Gracie's life and would disappoint her with his irresponsible nature and the fact that he lived so far away.

I'm not so sure I agree with Kelly's decision. One-night stand or not, she knew Chuck for years before that. Unless Chuck's an orphan, Gracie missed out on the other side of her family. Gracie was bound to ask questions as she got older. Did Kelly think of the long-term consequences of her decision? Was Gracie best served by her mother's decision? I forget if they addressed what Kelly told Gracie about her father. Do you think Chuck would have been a decent father, had he been told? Did Kelly have a moral obligation to tell Chuck? I guess after hearing Chuck's pain in the psychiatrist's office, I find myself asking these questions.

Great topic Janice! I guess I see both sides of this, while Chuck was irresponsible, he had every right to know. She shouldn't have made that decision on her own. Kelly should've told Chuck and let him decide what to do.

I understand his career was rising at the time, but he had a right to know. All I ever think about is what if my girlfriend never told me that I had a child? I would be pissed! Excuse my language, but being a father is a very big deal.

Great topic Janice! I definitely believe Kelly made the wrong decision in not telling Chuck about Gracie. For godsakes, she was his daughter for 10 years and he never knew it. Like Chuck said, he missed everything that happened in the first 10 years in his daughter's life . . . it was nothing but wrong not to tell him. Poor Gracie, now she has to find out that she actually did have a father but never knew it.
