The second week back in originals for Fox comedies " 'Til Death" and "Back to You" enjoyed ratings boosts Wednesday night and collectively edged out a victory for Fox in the 8 p.m. hour.
Without facing the Democratic presidential debate this week, "Death" was up 15% (6.2 million, 2.3/7), and "Back" gained 8% (7.3 million, 2.7/7). At 9 p.m., Fox's "American Idol" (22.6 million, 8.2/21) continued to hit new lows, posting its smallest rating among adults 18-49 in five years. Nonetheless, "Idol" won the night and outperformed all broadcast competitors in the 9 p.m. hour combined. NBC was second with a two-hour "Deal or No Deal" (9.9 million, 2.4/7) and "Law & Order" (12.6 million, 3.7/10). "Order" featured the final performance of Jesse L. Martin as Detective Ed Green and posted its best rating since its January season premiere. In third, CBS had "Big Brother" (6.7 million, 2.3/7) and repeats. ABC was fourth with "Wife Swap" (5.9 million, 2.2/7), "Supernanny" (5.4 million, 2.2/5) and "Men in Trees" (5.2 million, 1.5/4). The CW hit cycle highs for both "America's Next Top Model" (4.2 million, 2.0/6) and the season finale of "Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious" (2.3 million, 1.2/3). http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/...543460d7665853 |

A rating's boost, that's all I need to know. Why in the world are they taking so long to renew or not renew this show? Looks like Idol is losing some steam. It's to be expected. Most blockbuster shows enjoy a few seasons of through-the-roof ratings, then it levels off. It's still doing good, even though I've never watched the show for five minutes, lol.

That is excellent news. It's right back where it left off before the strike . . . anjoying a nice weekly ratings boost. I think it's funny that this episode got nearly the same number of viewers as Big Bang Theory did this week, and that show has already been renewed for next season. WHAT IS FOX WAITING FOR?
If it keeps going up, it'll definitely get renewed. I wonder why FOX would decide not to air the other 3 episodes. |
