Best of DVDs - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I've seen a collection of DVDs called "The Best of Petticoat Junction" advertised recently. It is supposed to be the entire 7 seasons of PJ on DVD. Has anyone purchased that collection? I'm curious as to the quality. Thanks!

I think only the first season was "officially" released and not much hope of the others being released because of so many people owning the rights. I bought the first season a few years back and Linda Kaye Henning's remarks were well worth the price. Frank Cady was also a spokesman as well.

I hope that it is true that the 7 seasons of "Petticoat Junction" will be coming out. I got the first part of the 1st season a couple of years ago too, but I hope that the rest of the seasons of the show will be released to the public.

If you go to Google and enter "Best of Petticoat Junction", you will get several results for sites that are selling the DVDs. I ordered the set a few days ago. I'll let you know the quality when they arrive.

CBS' holdup on this show is really embarassing. The set released by the Henning estate was really nice, but unfortunately what was released is the only official release the Henning estate can do. The rest of the series is still owned by CBS (which still has never released the first two seasons in syndication).

Although Paul Henning did sell the episodes many years ago, He and his Family retained the use and rights to the music. So in order for a video to be released, it has to have the approval of the Henning Estate etc. When you see full season sets for sale, check to see if its the original music. I am sure we will be seeing more official releases!!
