Just to let you all know; I started a new job on Monday the 21st, and so far it's going pretty good. I am so tired, and my feet are so sore but, I know it will get better. I work in the warehouse for a computer supplier company.

That's great, 80s fan!
![]() I've been in the midst of job transitioning myself. After 2+ years, due to medical issues and bad stress, I had to quit my job as ass't mgr at a local video store. Now I'm working part time at a grocery store working on truck days and occasional cashiering as well. It may not be glamorous and to some, it may look like a step backward, but I'm healthier now and the stress level has gone down big time as well. |

You'll get used to standing or walking or whatever you're doing. Hopefully you'll continue to like it well into the future.

So far, so good. Glad to hear it. I imagine it's difficult being on your feet all day, and hopefully you'll get used to it. If you haven't already, when you can, get yourself a good shoe or sneaker, one with plenty of support. It's well worth the investment. My husband, who has trouble with his feet due to diabetes, uses foot spray, either Gold Bond or Dr. Scholls. He relies on it to refresh his feet as much as he does on toothpaste for his teeth, lol. Those Dr. Scholl's shoe inserts can help your comfort too.

On tuesday the 21st; it will make 6 months that I have had this job in this company and I want to leave so badly but, have to wait until I either get a back up job or maybe go back to school. Too many problems with the people I work for/with, and there's just no challenge with this job, and no advancement. Had I known, what it was like I would've never accepted it.

I hear ya 80s fan...... I am already burned out at cashiering--well the situation with inept management and overuse as an employee. I've made overtime twice this past month and this is just a minimum wage job. The owner has no plans to ever give pay raises--she's that greedy. But I don't see where else I can go at this time, esp in this one-horse town I'm in.

I've been trying to leave my job for about seven years now! Well in the beginning I was admant about it, and then I go through these episodes where I want to go back to school to learn something else. But then I realized that I'd be losing a lot if I quit and had to start over somewhere else.
But I sympathize with you, 80's. Believe me, I know how easy it is to get burned out on a job. Good luck in your search for a new one! Andrea |
