It all has to do with inventory. When Wal-Mart, Best Buy or K-Mart get in new inventory and people do not buy it or not a lot of people buy certain items then they do not order anymore of that certain product. So Wal-Mart a in another city may sell 2,500 units of a certain product, but the Wal-mart in your area will only sell 100 units of that same product. Then the Wal-Mart in your area will not order anymore of that product because they are losing money. What they do not sell they have to send back to the manufactures. So that's why you may see certain items at one Wal-Mart that you don't see in another.
Hope that makes sense. |

Because the burbs always seem to get nicer stuff. I see it here too. Guess they buy more, so they get more choice, like Brieanna said.

Another consideration is that often times the stores in-city are smaller due to space concerns, and simply don't have room to stock 50 billion items. Out in the suburbs though there's more land, and ergo there are bigger stores.

Around here most people only go to the downtown city limits area to work and then go back to the suburbs to spend their money, in the last couple of years they have been trying to rejuvenate the city limits with more retail.
Also you are restricted by sqft space and high city taxes. |

Yeah, it's the same way here. I guess it's that way everywhere.
