What Has Happened? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Last month I took a week long break from the boards to focus on some family matters. When I got back it seemed like the entire board had been turned upside down. Everyone seemed to be angry with each other and I somehow got put in the middle of at least one argument even though I didn't have the slightest idea what had even happened in the first place. Over the last month it seems everything as gotten even worse here. Mikado left the boards. Lauren has now left the boards. I also haven't seen recent posts from Kelly, Katie, Tara, Irene and Cathy. Where has everyone gone? It seems like most of my good friends are leaving the boards.

The point of this thread is a plea for everyone here to get along. Over the last three weeks I have become so uncomfortable here that I have limited my posting to the show boards, the music and movie boards and birthday threads. I've been uncomfortable about posting in any other threads because I don't want to become involved in any more fights. I know that others feel the same as me. TJ even made a thread telling all of to leave the drama at the door. I totally agree with him. This is supposed to be a place to have fun, we don't need all the drama.

I have been holding a grudge against a fellow member myself for about a month now and I have decided to just let it go. I just don't need this sort of negativity in my life. None of us do. So can we all just be friends here? It seems like much of the fighting has been between people who are friends. All I can say to this is, friends forgive one another.

The thing that's been so insidious about what's apparently been going on lately is that a lot of it goes on off-site...so at first nothing on-site seems amiss. Then, all of a sudden things explode, and a person is left wondering just what happened.

That's a good post Crazy for Blair. This very successful message board is supposed to be a community for people who have something in common (which in this case, would be sitcom watchers or at least tv watchers) and a great place to meet new people. I dont see why people have to fight on it and ruin it for other people (or away from it, but still bringing their differences to this board), I always thought of these types of message boards as a positive place and kind of a way to get away from stuff in life for a few minutes a day. I really dont know anything about the whole fights and stuff, but whatever it is i dont see why people are leaving over that. Personally, the only posts i believe that are actually true, are the ones where people say "I am leaving the message boards for a while because i'm moving and will not have internet access".

i too cannot believe that things have got way out of hand. just to let you know, i initally signed up to this site because other than the fact i love discussing tv shows, i stopped visiting another website, which was in some ways similar to this one- though i won't mention the name of it- because i was receiving abusive threats on the internet.

i haven't given up on sitcoms online- yet, but for as long as all this negativity is on here, i will consider leaving this place for good, should it persist in the long run. but there are too many nice people on this site for me to give up on it, as of now. i came here to discuss not just tv but everything from music to films etc. well, almost everything. i do not deliberately mean to cause offence with some of the things i post and if i do i always apologise.

we should all just get along like mature adults and enjoy ourselves. otherwise, more people will be leaving this place in droves

i feel so out of the loop...i never saw anything related to the sticky thread that TJ posted and i don't know what anyone in this thread is talking about either. i've even looked around and searched and haven't found any drama.

No board issues, such as suspensions, are allowed to be discussed on the boards. I know there is some behind the scene problems among certain members, but I rarely see fights on the boards. I moderate Chit Chat, and I don't allow fights to continue, ever. I agree that it would be wonderful if all members could be friends, but that's not always possible.

That's right, Sarah. You didn't see it because it doesn't exist. Aside from the occasion wise remark or whatever, Chit Chit is a friendly place, on the surface anyway. How members get along, or don't get along, off the site, is another story, and their deal.
