MyNetworkTV has ordered 13 episodes of this new sitcom, and it is the very first sitcom to run on the nascent network. It is scheduled for 8 pm EST / 7 pm CT on Wednesdays, and it makes its debut this Wednesday April 16th. MyNetworkTV has scheduled "The Best of In Living Color", a highlights version of the original FOX series (cast interviews, bloopers), to follow at 8:30 pm.
According to MyNetworkTV, the premise of the show is as follows: Flavor Flav plays Calvster Hill, an ex-convict that moves in with his wealthy, conservative brother, Walter (Kelly Perine). Calvster subsequently turns the Hill family’s life upside down, parading his old prison cronies through the house; teaching his nephew Walter Jr. to be a gangsta rapper; and butting heads with Walter’s snooty wife, Ashley.The promos running in high rotation on MyNetworkTV over the past few weeks feature a clip from the opening credits of the show, with a theme song, that explains the premise quite humourously. MyNetworkTV is going like gangbusters promoting this show, using alternative media to promote the show (billboard campaigns, radio...according to the Chicago Sun-Times, in Chicago, one radio station WGCI, has sold it's ENTIRE seven hour block of ads tomorrow from noon to 7 pm for endless repetitions of commercials for "Under One Roof"). In the first episode, which I understand is the pilot of the series, Calvester is forced to re-think his view on life when a former cellmate visits. According to IMDB, "Under One Roof" has the following regular cast members signed on for the first 13 episodes:
