Default TV's All-Time Funniest -- 2-Hour Special on ABC Friday, May 9, 8-10pm ET/PT

“TV’S ALL-TIME FUNNIEST,” A PALEY CENTER FOR MEDIA SPECIAL, PREMIERES FRIDAY, MAY 9 ON ABC

TV Fans Voted: Cliff Huxtable or Homer Simpson as Funniest Father?
Lucy Ricardo or Marion Cunningham as Funniest Mother?

Conjure up a list of your favorite comedy characters from the greatest sitcoms in history… Who would be your favorites? TV fans across the country were asked to choose their funniest characters in the following eight categories: Funniest Comedy Fathers, Funniest Mothers, Funniest Kids, Funniest Relatives, Funniest Neighbors, Funniest Friends, Funniest Boss and Funniest Co-Workers. Collected by Nielsen Media Research, the results will be revealed in the two- hour “TV’s All-Time Funniest,” a Paley Center for Media special, airing FRIDAY, MAY 9 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Who is America’s funniest father? Is it Cliff Huxtable or Homer Simpson? Is the funniest mother Lucy Ricardo or Marion Cunningham? Watch to see if your funniest character is also America’s funniest. Interviews with TV icons such as Rainn Wilson (“The Office”), Brad Garrett (“Everybody Loves Raymond”), David Hyde Pierce (“Frasier”), Marion Ross (“Happy Days”), Mary Tyler Moore (“The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” “The Dick Van Dyke Show”), Valerie Harper (“The Mary Tyler Moore Show”) and Rue McClanhan (“The Golden Girls”) will be highlighted. These comedic stars will offer revealing insight into their funniest sitcom moments, accompanied by hilarious clips.

The Paley Center for Media, with locations in New York and Los Angeles, leads the discussion about the cultural, creative and social significance of television, radio and emerging platforms for the professional community and media-interested public. Drawing upon its curatorial expertise, an international collection and close relationships with the leaders of the media community, the Paley Center examines the intersections between media and society. The general public can access the collection and participate in programs that explore and celebrate the creativity, the innovations, the personalities and the leaders who are shaping media. Through the global programs of its Media Council and International Council, the Paley Center also serves as a neutral setting where media professionals can engage in discussion and debate about the evolving media landscape. Previously known as The Museum of Television & Radio, the Paley Center was founded in 1975 by William S. Paley, a pioneering innovator in the industry. For more information, please visit www.paleycenter.org.

“TV’s All-Time Funniest” is produced by Brad Lachman Productions in association with The Paley Center for Media. Executive producers are Pat Mitchell (The Paley Center for Media) and Brad Lachman (“Don’t Forget the Lyrics”). A TV parental guideline will be posted closer to the airdate.

It was a GOOD special, not GREAT, some of the choices were assinine, other very appropriate. I especially liked the clip of Lucy with Cosby at the end, but they should have colorized Lucy or black and whited Cosby to make it look like they were together. And you'd think they could come up with a different clip of Lucy once in a while, Vita and the hospital one have been shown much too often, she had other material you know.
