*Silver Spoons* SSN 2 on Comcast On-Demand - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

i don't get comcast in my area, but i'm told (by a friend who doens't have a dvd recorder) that ssn 2 is about to begin on one of the comcast on demand channels.. i don't know what the plan is to release ssn 2 on retail dvd, but i know releases of subsequent ssns of old tv shows can sometimes be determined by the sales of the previous ssns, so there aren't always guarantees.. as far as i was concerned the show was over after jason bateman and bobby fite left, so i'm VERY interested to get a high quality set of ssn 2 on dvd (that is - i'd prefer the 2 hour SP mode).. if anyone gets comcast and might be interested in recording it, let me know and i can send you my trade list before you go to the trouble..

Most recent ep available on the Comcast OD is 1-21, "wont you go home bob danish". I would be glad to keep an eye on it for you and record any new eps, if you want them.

I myself am curious is anyone else going to be recording this- would love to get it- but being as people can lose power, have obligations, or even forget- would love to know if others are recording this- as a back up plan?

Season 2 was on Comcast On Demand at one time. But i dont think they even went thru the whole season. They took the series off right after. Maybe this time around they will continue to show the rest of the series.

Also, I remember that the quality wasn't too great. It had some weird pixelation during the fast movement scenes. Look at the intro theme and you'll see what I'm talking about.

But if anyone would record this it would be awesome because it is definitely an upgrade over what's available right now. Unless someone is hiding a perfect quality set from us.

still looking for someone with comcast who'll agree to record this.. i appreciate the offers i've had so far, but i already have the 10 disc set, i don't want vhs tapes, etc, etc, so i'm still looking to set something up to get a nice quality set of ssn 2... anyone?

I've got Comcast, and just recently hooked up my DVR box to my PC via firewire. I remember going thru the On Demand and seeing some eps there, but i dont think it's a whole season. I'll get back to you on this.

yeah, they don't air the entire season all at once, so yeah, it would take a few months to record ssn 2 complete..

Yeah, sure - I'll record them for you! One thing though, since they're On Demand and they begin right away, there is a few seconds during the title sequence where you will still see the "progress bar" showing that it is playing... nothing I can do about it. Still want me to continue?

they're showing ssn 2 now, but im told they're numbering the episodes weird this time.. last time ssn 2 was listed as starting with episode #201 - "Passports To Pleasure", but this time they're numbering them as #123, #124, etc.. i have no idea why, but "Passports To Pleasure" is the beginning of ssn 2..
